About the company

CRIO provides an integrated health tech platform for clinical trials, unifying data capture and regulatory workflows through eSource that feeds directly into electronic data capture (EDC) for remote monitoring and real-time data review. It captures data once at a single point and uses autofill and data validation to reduce protocol deviations and avoid re-entry, while offering modules like patient scheduling, recruitment, and financial management. Its differentiators include leadership in eSource, a single platform that serves both sites and sponsor organizations, and built-in compliance with 21 CFR 11, ICH-GCP, GDPR, and HIPAA. CRIO’s goal is to improve the quality and speed of trials and enable patient-centric data access from anywhere, so trials can be conducted where patients are.

CRIO launches AI eSource Builder, cutting study build time by four hours per trial

CRIO, a provider of eSource technology for clinical research, has launched AI eSource Builder, which drafts a research site's eSource study build from the protocol, supporting documents and site preferences. Early adopter sites save an average of four hours per study build. Sites upload protocols and electronic case report forms. The tool reads the Schedule of Assessments and generates visits, windows and procedure templates, guided by more than 150 build rules that each site can adjust. Study designers review and refine every draft before it goes live. The tool uses only study design documents, so no electronic protected health information is involved. A Tufts Center for the Study of Drug Development study found at least 80% of sites say preparing source documents for complex trials takes more than 21 hours.
