Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Legal Residencies with developing and maintaining high-quality legal residency field placements that meet the needs of a diverse student population.
  • Create curriculum for and teach legal residency courses in compliance with American Bar Association Standards.
  • Communicate with and advise students about legal residency placements.
  • Assist students in securing legal residency placements across all types of legal practice.
  • Mentor students during their legal residencies as they develop professional identities and lawyering skills.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with existing and potential legal residency placements and supervisors, including regular communication with the bar, bench, and other legal professionals.
  • Assist the Director of Legal Residencies with program administration and compliance with academic rules and American Bar Association Standards.
  • Assist the Director of Legal Residencies with program assessment to accomplish program goals and maintain an accessible, student-centered program.
  • Assist the Director of Legal Residencies with recruiting and supervising adjunct faculty for legal residency courses.
  • Collaborate with UNH Law departments, including the law clinics, Career and Academic Advising Office, Academic Success Program, Admissions, and Registrar’s Office, to support student success.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Alumni Relations, and Admissions to promote the program.
  • Engage with the nationwide clinical legal education community to stay current on trends and developments.
  • Stay informed about current issues in legal practice to support students during their residencies and prepare them for practice after graduation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Ability to use Canvas or other technology to deliver online education.
  • Clinical or externship teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated professionalism in the bar, including state or national involvement.
