Braskem deploys Rockwell's SecureOT across 39 facilities, mapping 3,000 assets in eight months

Braskem, the largest polyolefins producer in the Americas, is using Rockwell Automation's SecureOT Platform to strengthen cybersecurity across its industrial operations, Rockwell announced on October 20, 2026. The platform gives Braskem a real-time view of its operational technology (OT) assets. Within eight months, it was deployed across more than 39 facilities, and Braskem has mapped and catalogued more than 3,000 assets. The company reports 100% project preparation and 95% infrastructure readiness. Braskem now keeps an up-to-date asset inventory, ranks vulnerability fixes faster, and can better demonstrate compliance during audits. "One of the biggest challenges in OT cybersecurity is knowing exactly what is connected to your environment," said Arron Nelson, industrial cybersecurity and infrastructure specialist at Braskem.

Hitachi Energy and Rockwell Automation unite power and automation to help industries accelerate electrification.

Hitachi Energy and Rockwell Automation unite power and automation to help industries accelerate electrification. Rockwell Automation, Inc. 4 mins read Grid-to-process approach integrates energy supply and production demand to improve efficiency, optimize resources, and simplify complex industrial projects * Brings together deep expertise across domains spanning electrical infrastructure, grid and process automation and digital technologies. * Supports a more unified approach to planning, delivering, and operating capital-intensive industrial facilities. * Initially focused on mining and metals, with potential applications across other energy-intensive industries. ZURICH & MILWAUKEE-BUSINESS WIRE- Hitachi Energy, a global leader in electrification, and Rockwell Automation, Inc. (NYSE: ROK), the world's largest company dedicated to industrial automation and digital transformation, announced today a collaboration centered on an integrated grid-to-process architecture that combines the infrastructure powering industrial facilities with the systems that manage production. As industrial companies face rising power demand, growing pressure to decarbonize, and increasing constraints on capital investment, electrical systems and production operations can no longer be planned in isolation. Decisions about power infrastructure increasingly influence operational performance, while production requirements play a larger role in planning, deploying, and operating electrical systems. By bringing together expertise in grid connection, power quality, energy management, protection and control, process automation, and digital operations, Hitachi Energy and Rockwell Automation aim to help customers achieve a more seamless integration of grid and process systems. Planning power and production systems together can streamline engineering, improve cross functional coordination and support digital mining operations, while exploring scalable and modular approaches that can support future expansion and evolving electrification requirements. Mining and metals will serve as the initial focus of the collaboration. As demand grows for the critical minerals, mining companies must simultaneously expand production, modernize operations, and accelerate the electrification of their own facilities. Analysis estimates that growth capital expenditures for new capacity could require $1 trillion over the next decade[1]. Reliable, high-quality power is fundamental to these operations, particularly in energy-intensive processes such as crushing, grinding, conveying, and processing, where disruptions can affect equipment utilization, production continuity, and operating costs. "Electrification is changing the economics of industrial operations. Decisions about energy infrastructure increasingly influence productivity, sustainability, and growth," says Marco Berardi, Head of Grid & Power Quality Solutions and Service at Hitachi Energy. "As industries expand capacity and modernize their operations, they need greater coordination between the systems that power their facilities and the processes that drive production. By bringing together the strengths of Hitachi Energy and Rockwell Automation, we can help customers navigate this complexity, improve operational performance, and support more efficient, resilient, and sustainable industrial operations." "The future of industry will be defined by how effectively companies integrate energy and production," said Brian Holte, vice president, Global Industry Growth, Rockwell Automation. "By combining Hitachi Energy's leadership in electrification with Rockwell Automation's experience in automation and digital transformation, we help customers design, build, and operate more intelligent, resilient, and sustainable sites. Together, we are enabling a grid-to-process approach that improves performance, accelerates growth, and helps customers bring new manufacturing capacity online faster, more predictably, and at greater scale." Once facilities are operational, the combination of electrification, automation, and digital technologies can provide greater visibility across energy consumption, production performance and asset utilization. The approach also provides a scalable foundation for future capacity expansion, increased electrification, and the integration of new energy resources. The companies are exploring opportunities in solution development, customer engagement, and selected industrial applications. While initially focused on mining and metals, the companies see broader potential across other energy-intensive industries. 1 - McKinsey & Co. Rockwell joins hands with TYC to build first Plex cloud demonstration site

Rockwell joins hands with TYC to build first Plex cloud demonstration site * 2026.10.08 * 10:56 * Commercial Times, Chen Yige As the global manufacturing supply chain is reshaped, the core of corporate operations is shifting from "automation efficiency" to "data-driven." Smart manufacturing is no longer just an upgrade tool, but a key engine driving business innovation and value. Rockwell Automation, a global leader in industrial automation and digital transformation, announced that it has partnered with TYC, a leading Taiwanese engineering chain manufacturer, to successfully complete Taiwan's first Plex cloud manufacturing execution system (MES) implementation. The two parties spent eight months building a highly scalable digital operations architecture, addressing past pain points such as heavy reliance on manual work and operational limitations caused by fragmented systems and data, significantly improving operational resilience and production quality, and setting a new benchmark for the upgrade and transformation of the traditional machinery industry. Facing global supply chain restructuring and ever-changing market demands, manufacturing is accelerating its shift from traditional automation to smart manufacturing centered on data-driven operations. As one of Taiwan's largest industrial chain manufacturers, TYC sells products to more than 30 countries worldwide and is known for high customization and engineering services across the entire value chain. However, given the industry characteristics of high product variety, low-volume production, and long product lifecycles, its traditional fragmented data architecture gradually constrained the expansion of operational scale. To break through operational bottlenecks, TYC chose to introduce Rockwell Automation's Plex cloud manufacturing execution system, integrating modular applications such as quality management (QMS), equipment maintenance, and mold management to successfully build a digital production management platform that combines flexibility and high scalability. The results after implementation were outstanding, achieving breakthroughs in multiple core operational indicators, including: First, delivery lead times were significantly optimized: end-to-end production visibility and traceability improved, raising the on-time delivery (OTD) rate from 80% to more than 90%, while work-in-progress (WIP) inventory decreased by 15%. Second, quality control and operational flexibility were upgraded: by reshaping operating models through digital workflows, the product first-pass yield increased from 70% to 85%; improvements in quality and production efficiency also reduced rework demand, and employee overtime hours fell by 20%. Third, laying the foundation for future intelligence: the establishment of real-time data and production transparency enabled data-driven decision-making and laid a solid foundation for the next stage of deploying digital twin and Internet of Things (IoT). Tan Shih-Hung, general manager of Rockwell Automation Taiwan, pointed out that nearly 90% of companies worldwide view digital transformation as key to maintaining competitiveness, and breaking down data silos and connecting cloud architectures has become an irreversible trend. This collaboration not only opens a new chapter in smart manufacturing but also provides a highly valuable practical reference model for Taiwan's machinery industry. Chiang Hui-Hsien, general manager of TYC, emphasized that in the face of a rapidly changing global environment, introducing cloud smart manufacturing solutions is key to promoting smart manufacturing upgrades and improving operational efficiency and competitiveness. It also helps strengthen the company's responsiveness and operational resilience, laying a foundation for long-term market competition and sustained growth. In the future, Rockwell Automation will continue to deepen its local market presence, join hands with more industry partners to expand the application boundaries of smart manufacturing, and jointly drive the wave of digital transformation in Taiwan's traditional manufacturing industry.
