X-Ray Field Service Engineer
About the job
- A minimum of four years of hands-on experience servicing and repairing X-ray systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with X-ray generators, imaging components, detectors, and related electronics.
- Ability to read schematics, interpret technical manuals, and use diagnostic test equipment.
- Ability to manage field service assignments independently and professionally.
- Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer locations throughout the assigned service area.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair X-ray systems, including C-arms, mobile X-ray units, and fixed radiography systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and equipment performance testing according to manufacturer procedures.
- Diagnose electrical, electronic, mechanical, and image-quality issues.
- Support equipment installations, component replacements, and system setup.
- Complete accurate service reports documenting findings, work performed, parts used, and test results.
- Communicate equipment status, repair recommendations, and next steps to customers and the OMI team.
- Coordinate with service scheduling and parts support to complete repairs efficiently.
- Follow applicable radiation safety requirements and company service procedures.
- Experience with GE OEC product lines, including OEC 9600, 9800, and 9900 C-arms.
- Manufacturer training or relevant technical certifications.
- Experience supporting multiple imaging equipment manufacturers.
- An associate degree, military technical training, or equivalent education in electronics, biomedical equipment technology, or a related field.
