US Amazon seasonal jobs 2026: 300,000 holiday roles, but will workers get permanent employment? The season is the largest recruitment push ever as Amazon opens up over 300,000 positions in its operations network in the United States. The job count is only one half of the story for job seekers. The question is, will it become a permanent full-time job after the holiday shopping season passes? Quick facts. * Total opportunities: 300,000+ seasonal, part-time and full-time jobs in the U.S. * Increased: Hired an additional 20% more seasonal staff over the last three holiday seasons to bring the total to 250,000 seasonal workers. * Average salary: Amazon says they pay about $20 per hour. * Healthcare: Seasonal workers are covered from day one once they are eligible, beginning January 1, 2027. * Cost: Plans begin at $5 a week with $5 co-pays. * Requirements: Workers should have a minimum of 30 hours of work per week. * Application period: will be open each week until December. What Amazon seasonal jobs 2026 actually offer. Amazon is hiring for positions in their warehouse, fulfillment centers and more across their network. The students, parents and second income earners can opt for both part-time and full-time programs, offering flexibility. Late applicants still have a chance if they postpone their applications till the end of the month, with weekly postings till December. Seasonal worker benefits: healthcare from day one. The biggest difference is the increased health benefit. Qualifying employees who work 30 or more hours per week will be able to join immediately from January 1, 2027, and premiums will begin at $5 per week. This is a nice thing to have for many temporary jobs that don't have any medical coverage whatsoever, especially if you're in one that extends into the next year. Can seasonal workers Become Permanent? Seasonal employees will be given opportunities to become permanent, though the rate hasn't been disclosed by Amazon. That doesn't necessarily mean jobs will be guaranteed, but it means they may be. The likelihood of getting a position is probably going to be subject to attendance, productivity and the number of jobs that become available after peak season. Nearly half of Michaels' seasonal staff became regulars after the 2025 holiday season, as a useful guide. The scale of Amazon indicates real opportunities, but the point is that one has to work hard for a conversion and not expect it. How other retailers compare. Amazon is going against the grain, and Amazon seasonal jobs 2026 are among the few that show caution among the rest. U.S. retailers will create 450,000 positions in the fourth quarter, compared to 461,500 a year ago, Challenger, Grey & Christmas projects. Dick's Sporting Goods is looking to hire approximately 8,400 seasonal workers, Foot Locker about 2,900, and Michaels will hire more than 10,000. In addition to this, Macy's has some national hiring events scheduled for October and November. The caution is telling since sales forecasts are looking good. Despite this increase, the National Retail Federation projects that sales for November and December will increase by 4.2%, to $1.013 trillion, but customers are still on the hunt for value. How to improve your chances of staying on after Amazon seasonal jobs 2026. * Update early and continue to monitor weekly postings. * Make 30+ hour shifts to qualify for healthcare. * Be consistent - attendance is the easiest way to be noticed. * Discuss permanent jobs with your manager in a timely fashion. The DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation and Angel City Sports power possibility. In 2013, eight-year-old Ezra Frech and his dad Clayton traveled to Oklahoma City for the UCO Endeavor Games, an annual multi-sport competition for athletes with physical disabilities. While there, Ezra asked his dad why there weren't programs like the Endeavor Games in Southern California, and that's how Angel City Sports was born. What began with one young athlete asking "why" has grown into exactly the kind of lasting change The DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation's Sports Matter Impact League is built to champion. The Sports Matter Impact League, which launched in 2025, selects empowering sports-based youth development organizations for a three-year tiered grant program to fuel sustainable, high-impact work. In addition to funding, Sports Matter Impact League partners receive strategic guidance, visibility opportunities and access to resources that strengthen organizational capacity. "Long-term partnerships allow us to listen, learn and build alongside organizations to create stronger programs and meaningful change that lasts," said Rick Jordan, Vice President of The DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation. Going into 2027, Angel City Sports will enter year two of its Sports Matter Impact League partnership. Rooted in the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to experience sport as a pathway to confidence, independence and belonging, Angel City Sports offers free, year-round adaptive sports programming for kids, adults and veterans with physical disabilities across the Los Angeles area. Since 2013, the organization has provided more than 31,000 athlete activations through annual clinics, multi-sport experiences and large-scale events. Beyond programming, Angel City Sports creates a community where athletes can see what is possible for themselves, often for the first time. "Angel City Sports taught me that I can do anything and that my wheelchair is never a limit," said 13-year old Angel City Sports athlete Damian Munoz. Angel City Sports also provides free access to specialized equipment that many athletes and families might not be able to afford on their own, something Angel City Sports Program Manager Alvin Malave says the organization can continue to do thanks to its partnership with The DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation. "I hope to teach the kids that anything is possible, and you can use sport as an opportunity to develop yourself mentally, physically and emotionally and go through life and be successful," Malave said.

Investors who bought DICK's Sporting Goods (NYSE: DKS) securities between September 8, 2025 and August 24, 2026 have until November 3, 2026 to seek lead plaintiff status in a securities class action. Law firm Glancy Prongay Wolke & Rotter LLP is reminding shareholders of the deadline. The suit alleges DICK's misled investors about its Foot Locker business. It claims the company did not disclose that inventory clean-up was incomplete and that Foot Locker relied on legacy footwear vulnerable to heavy promotions. On August 25, 2026, DICK's reported second-quarter revenue of $1.73 billion from Foot Locker, below analysts' estimates of $1.81 billion. It cut its 2026 net sales guidance to $21.9 billion–$22.2 billion, from $22.1 billion–$22.4 billion. The stock fell $55.02, or 30.68%, to $124.31 that day.
