Requirements
  • A paralegal certificate or equivalent paralegal experience is required.
  • Law office experience is required.

Responsibilities
  • Provide necessary support to one or more attorneys.
  • Prepare, draft, and file legal documents such as complaints, motions, briefs, and discovery.
  • Maintain relevant case information.
  • Maintain and update inventories of contact details.
  • Handle client communications and work with clients as needed.
  • Communicate with witnesses, clients, colleagues, and partners.
  • Facilitate the meeting of deadlines.
  • Manage records, projects, and calendars.
  • Index and update pleadings and discovery files.
  • Transcribe and proofread legal documents.
  • Collect and deliver documents.
  • Make travel arrangements for one or more lawyers.
  • Conduct research and investigate facts regarding cases.
  • Assist other staff as requested and perform other necessary duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook email and calendar, Adobe, and Apple operating systems.
  • Spanish-speaking ability.

D.Law, a California employment law firm, has introduced TREO, a litigation operating system built entirely in-house by its technology team. The system, which stands for Time, Records, Evidence, Outcomes, is designed to manage deadlines, documents, evidence, and case analytics in a unified platform. The firm reports 100% staff adoption across its 200-plus employees, including attorneys, paralegals, and support staff. According to D.Law, each user recovers four to five hours per week using the system. "We built TREO because we needed it," said Emil Davtyan, D.Law founder. "We think of ourselves as a technology company that practices employment law." The system was developed under Chief Technology Officer Valeri Tavadyan. Whilst currently used exclusively by D.Law, the firm has indicated potential plans to expand beyond internal use.
