About the Job

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience at Staff, Principal, or Architect level.
  • Experience owning platform/infrastructure, developer productivity, CI/CD, build systems, or workflow automation across globally distributed teams and systems.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Git workflows, branching strategies, and release management.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Jenkins CI/CD pipeline design, scaling, and reliability.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Docker containers for reproducible build and test execution.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Jira workflow design, automation, and cross-team visibility.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of test management systems such as TestRail or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering automation at scale, including building platforms or components used by multiple teams.
  • Systems thinking across security, reliability, performance, and cost tradeoffs.
  • Experience building AI-assisted developer tooling, such as CI insights, test intelligence, code review automation, release risk scoring, or incident copilots.
  • Experience implementing evaluation and monitoring for AI systems, including quality metrics, drift, offline test sets, and human feedback loops.
  • Extensive experience with software development on embedded Linux, multi-process architectures, and inter-process communication mechanisms.
  • Experience working in large cross-functional teams and influencing teams that do not report to you.
  • Ability to see the big picture while remaining focused on short-term objectives and deliverables.
  • Ability to multitask and drive parallel projects and distributed teams with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead an AI-first automation roadmap for Engineering Infrastructure and Enterprise Tooling to reduce waste, accelerate reviews, improve incident response, and increase release confidence.
  • Architect and ship AI- and large language model-enabled workflow automation across the software development lifecycle, including risk assessment, automated build, test and deployment, intelligent test selection, change-impact analysis, and automated triage of build and test failures.
  • Establish policies and guardrails for AI usage in internal tools, covering data handling, prompt and response logging, model and provider selection, evaluation, fallback behaviors, and abuse prevention.
  • Set technical direction and standards for globally used developer tools, including build systems, source code management, branching and release strategy, and self-service support tools.
  • Architect and evolve continuous integration/continuous delivery and build/test pipelines using Jenkins, Docker, and build systems to support multi-site engineering environments.
  • Own and scale test and quality workflows using test management systems such as TestRail or equivalent, enabling consistent traceability, reporting, and release sign-off across distributed teams.
  • Drive Jira workflow design and automation, including templates, guardrails, and integrations, to provide consistent cross-organization visibility and execution.
  • Design and implement automation spanning Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Partners, including launch readiness, certification and release checklists, partner onboarding, and incident and change workflows.
  • Replace manual coordination with durable automation and integrations that work reliably across regions and time zones.
  • Embed secure-by-default controls into pipelines and tooling, including access control, secrets handling, audit trails, and policy enforcement, including for AI-enabled systems.
  • Improve build and test performance and reliability by addressing build times, test duration, flaky tests, and pipeline stability using measurable key performance indicators and operational rigor.
  • Drive tooling and infrastructure cost efficiencies through compute utilization, caching strategies, license rationalization, and AI/runtime cost and return-on-investment tracking.
  • Own cross-team architectures and standards, and drive adoption through influence, clear technical judgment, and sustained multi-quarter execution.
  • Lead design reviews, mentor senior engineers, and unblock difficult technical problems across distributed teams and systems.
  • Provide long-term stewardship through roadmaps, operational maturity including runbooks and service-level objectives, and incident and postmortem practices suitable for 24/7 global operations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Bazel, BitBake, or Yocto build systems.
