Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree by the start date, or a high school diploma or equivalent with six years of directly related work experience.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present the university favorably to individuals and groups of varying sizes.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts between prospective students' families and the university during the admission process.
  • Flexibility to handle varied duties and projects throughout the day and year.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies, including faculty, academic deans, senior administrators, admission staff, students, parents, guidance counselors, and alumni.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • A complete understanding of Tulane University's admission and recruitment policies.
  • Detailed knowledge of Tulane University's undergraduate academic programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of policies and procedures governing the distribution of student financial aid.
  • Broad-based knowledge of student activities, residential life, athletic programs, learning support services, and other extracurricular programs and services provided by Tulane University.
  • Familiarity with New Orleans, Southern Louisiana culture, local customs, and local history.
  • Familiarity with educational records, including high school transcripts and evaluation systems, standardized test scores, international educational records, and college transcripts.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact between prospective students, secondary school communities, and Tulane University.
  • Conduct frequent public presentations describing Tulane University, its programs, and its services.
  • Conduct individual interviews with high school guidance counselors, prospective students, and their families.
  • Independently research, plan, coordinate, schedule, execute, and evaluate high school visitation and recruitment programs in assigned areas.
  • Assist with special projects, including creating and designing publications and editing and producing multimedia presentations.
  • Plan special events both on and off campus.
  • Coordinate alumni, parent, and current-student recruitment activities.
  • Serve as a liaison with university departments and college dean's offices.
  • Serve on university committees.
  • Supervise operations staff and student workers on specific projects.
  • Conduct market research.
  • Manage project-specific budgets.
