Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operational workflows of the Academic Affairs department for more than 700 students and 100 faculty members.
  • Assist in creating, implementing, and communicating site-level academic policy, providing strategic input and ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
  • Drive automation and streamlining of departmental workflows with internal teams, the Global Office, and other campus partners.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of administrators and coordinators by providing regular coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • Represent Academic Affairs in cross-departmental meetings at NYU London and align cross-functional student-support efforts.
  • Direct the management of specialist courses with external requirements, including Human Development school placements, internships, and external science laboratories.
  • Provide guidance and training to students navigating bias and other matters contrary to an inclusive community, connecting them with appropriate resources.
  • Schedule and plan co-curricular visits and activities with faculty, manage bookings and communications, delegate tasks, and ensure accountability for execution.
  • Organize and coordinate academic special events and short-term programs linked to courses.
  • Oversee timetabling for each semester and summer program in alignment with registrar and accreditation requirements.
  • Oversee creation of the final examination schedule each semester.
  • Manage course scheduling and provide real-time updates to Finance and Human Resources for faculty appointment letters.
  • Partner with Finance to manage faculty supplemental payments and oversee invoices for guest lecturers and special events.
  • Oversee the co-curricular budget, trip requests, and related expenditure, submitting documentation to Finance for processing and payment.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for the Moses Center for Accessibility and Inclusive Culture.
  • Oversee logistics for approved extended-time, make-up, and remote examinations and guide direct reports in handling faculty queries.
  • Coordinate support for students following class absences, including make-up examinations and coursework deadlines.
  • Oversee the incomplete-grade process, liaising with faculty and global partners for timely resolution.
  • Manage faculty illness protocols, including make-up date scheduling.
  • Ensure student concerns are submitted to NYUConnect promptly and monitor follow-up from the student's home school.
  • Act as the academic lead for attendance-policy enforcement under UKVI regulations.
  • Supervise absence monitoring and train and advise new faculty on monitoring and reporting protocols with ICIR staff.
  • Manage student absence requests and meet with students in the monitoring phase, liaising with relevant teams and home schools when students are non-compliant.
  • Ensure attendance concerns are submitted to NYU Connect for escalation with the home-school advisor.
  • Work with ICIR to automate and improve attendance reporting, monitoring, and tracking.
  • Supervise staff providing general academic support, coach team members on conflict resolution, and escalate complex matters as appropriate.
  • Assist students with Drop/Add, Pass/Fail, and withdrawal processes.
  • Lead resolution of student academic conduct matters, including class behavior and attendance issues, and guide staff in consistent policy application.
  • Attend faculty meetings and support the Director and Associate Director with planning and execution, including delegation and meeting follow-up.
  • Provide support and advice to faculty regarding classroom issues, procurement of teaching resources, and contractual obligations.
  • Co-lead new-faculty orientation and coordinate onboarding resources and information.
  • Support grading oversight by monitoring standards, timely grade submission, complaints, Academic Integrity cases, and student appeals.
  • Oversee academic orientation each semester by delegating responsibilities, setting timelines, and ensuring a seamless experience for incoming students.
  • Manage day-to-day academic inquiries and establish and monitor team service standards.
  • Assist with purchasing academic and class-related resources.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Academic Affairs leadership or required by NYU London leadership.
