- A minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience is required.
- At least 1 year of demonstrated leadership ability is required.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required, from a National League for Nursing-accredited school of nursing.
- A current New Jersey Registered Nurse license is required.
- Basic Life Support certification is required.
- Assume responsibility and accountability for the direction, implementation, and evaluation of patient care services within the assigned unit under the direction of the Nursing Director.
- Assist the Clinical Director in providing leadership, direction, and coordination of patient care services to ensure safe, high-quality, evidence-based care delivery.
- Oversee day-to-day operational functioning of the assigned unit, including staffing coordination, workflow oversight, and resource utilization.
- Support personnel management activities such as interviewing, hiring, orientation, coaching, counseling, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary and ancillary services to promote effective communication, patient satisfaction, and continuity of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, regulatory compliance efforts, and implementation of Joint Commission, state, and federal standards.
- Act as a liaison between nursing staff, physicians, and other departments, facilitating problem-solving, conflict resolution, and collaboration.
- Promote staff education, professional development, and competency validation in collaboration with the Nursing Director and Education Department.
- Assist in patient care and drive quality at the bedside.
- Ensure patient flow and throughput of the unit.
- Exercise independent judgment and leadership in the Nursing Director’s absence.
- Progressive leadership experience in acute or specialty care settings is preferred.
- National specialty certification such as NE-BC, CCRN, RN-BC, or equivalent as applicable is preferred.
