Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Sports Medicine is required.
  • Certification in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop exercise programs and conduct cardiovascular testing to evaluate and rehabilitate adult and geriatric cardiac patients.
  • Provide exercise education instruction and exercise classes for cardiac preventive medicine clinics.
  • Administer health risk appraisals and provide cardiac lifestyle follow-up consultations.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or Sports Medicine is preferred.
  • Six months of experience in cardiology involving the exercise treatment of cardiac patients is preferred.
  • Prior experience with various types of cardiac equipment is preferred.
  • Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine as an Exercise Test Technologist or Exercise Specialist is preferred.
