Stocks making the biggest moves premarket: INTC, ORCL, AXP. Premarket trading saw notable movement among various companies following their quarterly earnings reports. Intel experienced a 4% increase in its stock after announcing its strongest quarterly revenue growth in nearly 15 years, with Q2 revenues reaching $16.1 billion - 25% higher than the previous year. The company also reported adjusted earnings of 42 cents per share, surpassing analyst expectations. Deckers Outdoor saw its shares decline by 3%, as it reported first-quarter revenue of $1.02 billion, aligning with consensus estimates. Nonetheless, revenues from its popular Hoka and Ugg brands fell short of market expectations. Oracle's shares rose nearly 3% following its announcement of a $7 billion, 10-year software agreement with the Pentagon for its on-premises software, intended for various military branches. In contrast, Robert Half's stock fell nearly 7% after reporting second-quarter earnings of 26 cents per share - matching forecasts but slightly disappointing in revenue of $1.34 billion, just above the consensus of $1.32 billion. Amkor Technology experienced a significant jump in its stock, surging over 11% after securing a multiyear agreement worth $1.5 billion with Nvidia to develop advanced semiconductor packaging and testing technologies for artificial intelligence. On the healthcare front, Tenet Healthcare's shares climbed over 16% after reporting adjusted earnings of $6.12 per share, well above the expected $4.26, along with revenue exceeding forecasts. Amid this, American Express's shares dipped by 3% following a revenue miss, despite earnings that exceeded expectations. Other notable movements included a 5% increase for SAP, attributed to a strong growth in its cloud backlog, while Charter Communications and MaxLinear faced declines, despite some positive earnings reports. Why this story matters: * The varying performance of companies highlights trends in different sectors, such as technology, healthcare, and consumer goods, which can impact market perceptions. Key takeaway: * Strong earnings reports can significantly boost stock prices, whereas any revenue misses or disappointing forecasts can lead to declines. Opposing viewpoint: * Some analysts argue the market reactions may not reflect the long-term potential of companies, as short-term earnings can be volatile and influenced by external economic factors.

Korn Ferry named Canada's Best Executive Recruiter by Forbes. 24 July 2026 Consulting.ca Korn Ferry, a Los Angeles-headquartered organizational consulting firm, was ranked as Canada's Best Executive Recruiter by Forbes Magazine. The consultancy - which has Canada offices in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Vancouver - was the top-ranked of 90 firms in the executive recruiting list. Korn Ferry was also ranked 11th in the Canada's Best Professional Recruiting Firms list, which focuses on firms that place candidates in permanent, non-executive roles. "We're pleased to be recognized by Forbes as Canada's best executive recruiter and a leading professional search firm. This recognition reflects our commitment as a global organizational consulting firm to help clients identify exceptional talent, align leadership and strategy, and build the cultures and capabilities that drive enduring performance," said Gary Burnison, CEO of Korn Ferry. The firms rounding out the top five of the executive recruiting ranking were Randstad, Robert Half, Spencer Stuart, and Boyden. The Forbes rankings were based primarily on survey responses from 15,000 HR managers, hiring managers, recruiters, and employees who recently worked with a recruiting firm in Canada. Results were largely determined by the number of validated recommendations a recruiting firm received, with a lower weight given to responses in last year's survey. Korn Ferry also ranked first in Forbes' US list of the best executive recruiters. Founded in 1969, Korn Ferry has more than 9,000 global professionals who help clients design organizational structures, hire talent, and reward and develop employees.

Robert Half stock trades steady as recent earnings show softer demand and margin pressure.

Robert Half stock trades steady as recent earnings show softer demand and margin pressure. Published on 07/20/2026 at 09:40 | Editorial responsibility: Rafael Müller, Editor-in-Chief AD HOC NEWS Robert Half stock reflects a cooling temporary staffing market, with recent quarterly results showing lower revenue and earnings as clients slow hiring and professional placements. Robert Half stock mirrors the shifting dynamics in the US professional staffing and consulting market, with the companys latest reported quarter showing that demand for temporary and permanent placements has softened from the peak hiring cycle of 2022. Revenue declines from prior year. Robert Half International Inc. (ISIN US7703231032) reported that consolidated revenue for one of its recent quarters fell versus the prior year as clients scaled back hiring plans and delayed projects. According to the companys investor materials, quarterly revenue was in the range of approximately $1.4 billion to $1.6 billion, down from around $1.7 billion to $1.9 billion in the comparable period a year earlier, reflecting a double digit percentage decline in demand across key staffing and consulting lines. The reported figures indicated that professional staffing revenue, which includes placements in accounting, finance, administrative and technology roles, declined by several hundred million dollars compared with the prior year quarter, while Protiviti consulting revenue proved more resilient but still grew more slowly than in earlier periods of strong demand. The change in mix and lower volume compressed operating leverage, resulting in weaker profitability even as the company maintained cost discipline. Margin compression and earnings comparison. In the same quarterly release, Robert Half noted that net income and earnings per share decreased compared with the prior year quarter as revenue fell and pricing and utilization came under pressure. The company reported quarterly net income in the low to mid hundreds of millions of dollars, down from levels closer to $200 million or more in the prior year period, and diluted earnings per share that were lower by well over twenty percent year on year, highlighting how cyclical the staffing business can be. Management also disclosed that operating margin narrowed from the mid teens to the low double digits compared with the prior year, as fixed costs and investments in systems and people weighed more heavily on a smaller revenue base. For investors, the margin trajectory now matters, because without a recovery in placements or consulting engagements, it remains difficult for Robert Half to return to the peak earnings levels reached when corporate hiring and project demand were stronger. Read deeper More details on Robert Half fundamentals. The latest investor materials from Robert Half provide additional tables and commentary on segment revenue, margins and cash flows that help explain the cyclical movement in staffing and consulting demand. Protiviti consulting supports overall revenue. A key component of Robert Half is Protiviti, its global consulting subsidiary that focuses on risk, compliance, technology and business performance projects for corporate clients. In recent financial reporting, Protiviti has typically contributed several hundred million dollars of quarterly revenue, providing a stabilizing effect when staffing volumes fluctuate. While growth in Protiviti slowed compared with the strong expansion during earlier periods, it still helped offset some of the decline in traditional staffing revenue. The company has emphasized that Protiviti engagements are often driven by regulatory change, cyber risk and digital transformation initiatives, which follow a different cycle from pure hiring trends. That diversification has become more important as clients pause or scale back permanent and temporary hiring, because steady consulting revenue can support cash flow and help preserve the companys ability to invest in technology, marketing and talent acquisition for future upturns. Robert Half stock and market context. Without citing an exact current price, Robert Half stock on its primary US exchange has traded within a broad 52 week range that, according to recent market data, spans several tens of dollars per share, reflecting investor reassessment of earnings power as staffing demand slowed from peak levels. Market data also show that the companys market capitalization has typically been in the mid to high single digit billions of dollars, placing it among significant mid cap names in the US employment services and consulting sector. Performance over the past year has therefore tracked the evolution of corporate hiring confidence and project spending, with periods of relative strength in the shares when data suggested that clients were stabilizing or cautiously increasing hiring, and phases of consolidation when surveys and macro indicators pointed to slower job creation or budget tightening. For investors, how Robert Half balances cost control, dividend policy and share repurchases against the backdrop of fluctuating earnings will remain a central part of the equity story. Staffing services remain core offering. Beyond the headline numbers, Robert Half continues to derive the majority of its revenue from staffing services that connect employers with professionals in finance, accounting, administrative support, technology and legal roles. The company operates a large network of offices and digital platforms that match candidate skills with client needs, and it has invested in data and tools to improve the speed and quality of placements. In recent quarters, however, the number of assignment hours and placement volume has eased from the highs reached when corporate hiring demand was particularly robust. This moderation in activity has led management to adjust capacity and expenses while preserving the core capabilities that will be needed when hiring cycles strengthen again. The company has historically responded to macro cycles by flexing use of temporary staff, adjusting marketing spend and focusing on higher margin placements, and its recent commentary suggests a similar approach as it navigates slower demand and prioritizes maintaining service quality and relationships with both clients and candidates. Stock positioning and investor perspective. Although the latest financial results showed weaker revenue and earnings than the prior year, Robert Half still reported positive net income and maintained a solid balance sheet with significant cash and conservative leverage, giving it flexibility to continue dividends and opportunistic buybacks when appropriate. Over past reporting periods, the company typically declared a quarterly cash dividend in the low single digit dollars per share annually, supported by operating cash flow that, while lower than peak, remains positive. For investors analyzing Robert Half stock, the key variables are the pace at which clients resume hiring, the resilience of Protiviti consulting engagements, and the companys ability to protect margins through disciplined cost management. The quantified declines in revenue and earnings versus the prior year highlight the cyclical risk of staffing, but the diversified consulting exposure and long established client relationships provide a counterweight that could support the business through the current phase of softer demand.
