Responsibilities
  • Partner with External Relations teams to identify workflows where artificial intelligence can materially improve speed, quality, insight, or scale.
  • Prototype practical artificial-intelligence-enabled solutions using approved internal tools, automation techniques, and lightweight technical approaches.
  • Translate ambiguous business problems into testable artificial intelligence use cases, pilots, and repeatable workflows.
  • Help teams rethink processes from the ground up rather than simply layering artificial intelligence onto existing ways of working.
  • Serve as a hands-on artificial intelligence advisor and coach for External Relations colleagues, from first-time users to advanced practitioners.
  • Develop reusable playbooks, examples, prompts, workflows, and training materials tailored to External Relations work.
  • Run demonstrations, office hours, workshops, and showcases that make artificial intelligence use cases concrete and actionable.
  • Build a community of artificial intelligence champions across global External Relations teams and help successful ideas spread.
  • Act as External Relations’ central connector to firmwide artificial intelligence, engineering, product, operations, legal, and compliance partners.
  • Help colleagues navigate access, policy, security, and procedural questions around artificial intelligence tools.
  • Stay close to Bloomberg’s internal artificial intelligence roadmap and translate relevant developments into clear opportunities for External Relations.
  • Provide External Relations leadership with practical updates on adoption, emerging use cases, barriers, wins, and next opportunities.

Bloomberg News has hired Ian Salisbury as an editor on its money, management and equality team. He has been at Barron's since April 2024 as a senior investing writer. Before that, he worked on Buy Side, the Wall Street Journal's affiliate-driven shopping and review site, where for the past two years he oversaw money coverage. Previously, Ian was an editor and staff writer for Money magazine, where he wrote feature stories about topics like investing, retirement and taxes and covered the 2016 presidential election. Earlier in his career he spent a decade writing for several Dow Jones publications including the Newswire, SmartMoney, Marketwatch and the WSJ Digital Network. He holds a bachelor's degree from Columbia University and a master's degree from Northwestern.

Bloomberg launches FX options RFQ API for end-to-end programmatic trading on FXGO platform

Bloomberg has launched its FX Options RFQ API on FXGO, enabling full programmatic execution in foreign exchange options trading for the first time. The new offering allows buy-side traders to run the entire request-for-quote workflow programmatically, from submission through deal completion, without manual intervention. The API covers vanilla and exotic FX options strategies across deliverable and non-deliverable currency markets, connecting clients to multiple liquidity providers through a single interface. Bloomberg introduced the service following increased demand from systematic hedge funds and asset managers. The company recorded over 58% year-on-year growth in FX options volumes on FXGO since August 2025, with hedge fund activity rising more than 75%.

Bloomberg promotes internally for EMEA buy-side fixed income electronic trading sales head. Individual steps into role after 12 years in several sales-based positions at the firm; has previously worked at MUFG and JP Morgan. Caroline Francillette has stepped up as EMEA head of buy-side fixed income electronic trading sales at Bloomberg, marking an extension of her ongoing 12-year tenure at the firm. London-based Francillette initially joined Bloomberg in 2014, and during her time at the firm has worked across various sales-related roles, most recently as a regional sales manager for France, BeLux, Geneva and Monaco. Prior to this, she spent more than three years at Japanese bank MUFG, where she worked in a position covering credit sales. Earlier in her career, Francillette spent four years at JP Morgan. Bloomberg had not responded to a request for comment at the time of publication. Most recently, Bloomberg named Arif Merali as the firm's new global head of rates electronic trading. The appointment followed a five-year stint at the Bank of England, where Merali served as a senior advisor, providing technical advice and policy support to the bank's executive director of markets, as well as the wider markets directorate.
