About the company

Wehkamp is a Dutch online retailer that started in 1952 selling mattresses by mail order and evolved into a multi-brand e-commerce platform. Shoppers browse and buy items on its website, paying with online methods, while the company uses a large automated distribution center in Zwolle to store and ship orders. It differs from many competitors by transitioning early from mail order to online retail and by investing heavily in logistics automation, backed by Apax Partners as part of the Wehkamp Retail Group. Its goal is to provide convenient online shopping with reliable delivery and service, growing into a leading multi-brand e-commerce player within its group.
