Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or diploma in Property Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • At least 7 years of progressive experience in commercial and/or residential property management is required.
  • Previous experience leading property management or operations teams is required.
  • Strong understanding of building operations, maintenance, capital projects, and property management best practices is required.
  • Experience managing operating budgets and vendor contracts is required.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Strong communication and relationship management abilities are required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and property management software is required.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of a portfolio of residential and commercial properties.
  • Supervise and support Property Managers, Building Operators, Superintendents, and maintenance staff.
  • Ensure properties are maintained in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor operating budgets, expenses, and service contracts to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Review property performance and implement strategies to improve tenant satisfaction and building operations.
  • Coordinate maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance programs, and capital improvement projects.
  • Manage relationships with contractors, consultants, and service providers, including contract negotiation and performance monitoring.
  • Conduct regular property inspections and ensure timely resolution of operational issues.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning processes.
  • Collaborate with leasing, finance, accounting, and development teams on operational matters.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and improve operational policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Prepare operational reports and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Assist with due diligence and operational integration for property acquisitions and dispositions.
  • Respond to escalated tenant issues and support the resolution of complex operational matters.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Yardi is considered an asset.
  • Change management and continuous improvement are recommended competencies.
