Requirements
  • Currently studying toward a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • For a 16-month internship, be available from May or June 2027 through August or September 2028.
  • Expected graduation date of November 2028 or later.
  • Have at least one year of academic experience with programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
Responsibilities
  • Characterize analog blocks and perform PHY, Link Layer, and protocol compliance testing against industry standards such as PCIe, Ethernet, and UCIe.
  • Bring up silicon, debug issues, present test results, and generate validation reports.
  • Define test plans and develop test methodologies for various tests.
  • Develop and standardize test scripts and automate test equipment.
  • Determine equipment and accessory needs for various tests.
  • Study signal integrity and power integrity for evaluation boards and silicon.
  • Develop and automate a robotic handler for regression and volume validation, and develop scripts to automate data analysis.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.
  • Relevant academic or personal project experience.
  • Relevant industry experience, including internships or summer work.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl, and Shell.

Qualcomm to acquire PickNik Robotics to advance open-source physical AI ecosystem

Qualcomm said the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 can run models with 30 billion parameters and includes security controls for agentic access to sensitive data. The chips will appear in premium smartphones from Motorola, Xiaomi, and ZTE. The launch comes as phone brands increasingly rely on higher-priced models during a market downturn. Counterpoint forecasts smartphone shipments will fall 14% in 2026 and another 1% in 2027.
