Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of fundraising experience, or more years of experience in a relevant field such as sales, business development, account or relationship management, marketing, and/or public relations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of philanthropy and Development expertise.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, about fundraising support.
  • Ability to build rapport, listen attentively, and change the thinking of or gain acceptance from others in varied situations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience interacting with diverse internal and external constituents in a culturally competent and supportive manner.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.
  • Ability to partner with peers, management, and leadership and collaborate across diverse university units and departments.
  • Understanding of the responsibility to maintain sensitive information and appreciation of ethics and compliance.
  • Openness to travel on behalf of the University of New Hampshire for donor or prospect visits or as the university's representative, including local, regional, and domestic trips.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in database technologies, Microsoft Office, and technological and data-related work.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and actively expand a portfolio of Paul College constituents capable of making leadership-level gifts of $25,000-$99,999, maintain frequent contact, build relationships, and increase philanthropic support.
  • Conduct up to 150 prospect and potential-prospect visits annually by video conference, phone, and/or in person, including travel across the state, region, and occasionally the United States.
  • Engage the Paul College Dean, faculty, and staff in prospect visits when needed.
  • Craft funding proposals that facilitate leadership-level gifts and multi-year commitments aligned with donor and dean fundraising or strategic priorities.
  • Solicit gifts of all levels for Paul College, focusing on leadership-level gifts, to achieve annual revenue goals.
  • Assist the Development team in achieving university-wide and Paul College alumni participation goals through campaigns such as the annual 603 Challenge and year-end pushes.
  • Facilitate prospect movement across Annual Giving, Leadership Giving, Major Giving, and Planned Giving in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Qualify and disqualify prospects for leadership-level giving by assessing their affinity and inclination to engage philanthropically at that level.
  • Steward prospects and donors through their philanthropic journey with Paul College to maximize donor potential.
  • Use the CRM database, reports, and other technologies to manage, engage, and expand the portfolio efficiently.
  • Plan and execute leadership-level giving communications and marketing for Paul College with colleagues across the Leadership and Annual Giving teams using mail, phone, email, social media, and other channels.
  • Plan and facilitate leadership-level cultivation and stewardship activities, including events, programs, and other touchpoints, with Development colleagues.
  • Consult with Paul College leadership, faculty, and staff on fundraising tactics, engage them in strategies when possible, and align efforts with their priorities and vision.
  • Partner with the Senior Director of Leadership Giving to determine annual goals for individual and unit-level metrics, monitor progress through reports, ensure timely and accurate data recording, and work to achieve annual goals.
  • Collaborate across Development and Advancement teams to support division and university fundraising goals and strategic plans and align leadership-giving strategies with broader fundraising and engagement strategies.
  • Participate in events, programs, meetings, and initiatives supporting the University of New Hampshire and Paul College as directed by Development, Advancement, and the Paul College Dean.
