Requirements
- Secondary education; a mechanical trade certification in heavy vehicle, diesel mechanic, agricultural machinery, or automotive mechanics is preferred.
- Certification in Training and Assessment is strongly preferred.
- A license, ticket, or certification relevant to the product being demonstrated, as applicable.
- A valid driver's license.
- A valid passport and ability to satisfy all conditions for interstate and international travel.
- Significant hands-on subject-matter expertise in a similar product training specialist position, focused on developing and delivering training, in-field coaching and capability development, and full-range product-use demonstrations.
- Ability to develop content, train, facilitate, coach, and present effectively.
- Experience operating a range of agricultural, construction, or industrial machinery.
- Applied understanding, experience, and mechanical aptitude relevant to the product categories, including practical in-field understanding of products or machinery, production techniques, and performance requirements.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and practical training methods.
- Ability to undertake and present reporting and explain technical concepts in simple terms.
- Relationship management experience in a consultancy and customer-service context.
- Basic knowledge of sales processes, including lead generation, customer engagement, needs assessment, product presentation, objection handling, and closing techniques, supported by communication, relationship-building, and customer-focused selling skills.
- Attention to detail, including product setup and presentation.
- Planning and organizational skills and ability to manage concurrent priorities.
- Applied knowledge of relevant International and Australian Standards and applicable work health and safety/occupational health and safety legislation.
- Proficiency with applications including SAP, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office or Google Suites, learning management system software, and Copilot or artificial intelligence.
- Open to Australian citizens, residents, or applicants with current permanent unrestricted work rights for Australia.
- A pre-employment medical assessment and criminal records check are required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver product and technical training, including hands-on demonstrations of equipment operation, benefits, maintenance, and safety, as well as in-field coaching and capability development.
- Conduct training needs analysis and adapt delivery plans for different audiences and experience levels.
- Create and maintain training materials, collateral, presentations, guides, and practical learning resources.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Deliver and facilitate face-to-face instructor-led training.
- Coordinate with dealers and users; administer attendance; conduct risk assessments for demonstrations and machinery operation during training; and monitor surveys, experiences, and outcomes.
- Research and liaise to maintain technical and working knowledge of models, updates, and market needs.
- Support product launches with structured sessions and demonstrations.
- Analyze data, report, and present information on an ad hoc or scheduled basis, including product performance, technical issues, customer-service improvement metrics, product-offering feedback, and lead and sales objectives.
- Represent the Kubota brand at external events, including product launches, field days, and industry events.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including dealers, Kubota Zone Managers, Regional Service Managers, Technical Specialists, and third-party providers.
- Participate in organizational or departmental projects to optimize product-, sales-, and service-related operations or objectives.
