Requirements
  • 0–2 years of experience.
  • High School/GED education.
  • Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and an active Patient Care Technician Certification.
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Successful completion of CPCT-A certification.
  • Ability to work full-time days for 36 hours per week, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, coworkers, and the healthcare team.
  • Ability to identify and communicate changes in patient status.
Responsibilities
  • Support patients’ activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, and transport, while following standard precautions.
  • Perform technical duties as directed by a registered nurse, including phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, electrocardiograms, and Foley catheter care, and document appropriately.
  • Identify and communicate changes in patient status to the registered nurse and respond appropriately while maintaining safe patient practices.
  • Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
  • Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance improvement activities.
  • Assist in orienting new hires.
  • Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the required due date.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards to maintain a safe environment and high-quality patient care.
