Requirements
  • A minimum of a master's degree in the specific degree required for the position, or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a specifically related field.
  • At least one year of full-time teaching experience or the equivalent as an adjunct instructor.
  • An equivalent and applicable combination of education and experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and teaching experience equating to two years.
  • A strong background in computers and technology, general office skills, the ability to research and effectively analyze data, and the ability to work independently toward established goals and deadlines.
  • Commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of a background check and, when applicable, a motor vehicle records report.
  • Adherence to Colorado Mountain College safety and compliance policies.
  • Ability to perform the physical and communication requirements of the position, including occasional driving and handling, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Teach the assigned course load and classes designated by the supervisor.
  • Evaluate courses and assess student learning while meeting established course, program, and learning outcomes.
  • Comply with applicable guidelines and policies and maintain office hours according to established standards.
  • Prepare lesson plans for each course in accordance with approved course objectives.
  • Develop and submit course outlines and syllabi to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Assist with developing measurable course objectives and plans.
  • Develop professional relationships with students and staff that encourage teacher-student communication.
  • Maintain accurate student course records and complete required course forms.
  • Be available for student consultation.
  • Assist with student recruitment as appropriate.
  • Assist with curriculum and instructional performance evaluation when agreed upon and appropriate.
  • Represent the college professionally throughout its communities and college district by promoting a positive public image.
  • Engage in required professional development for credentialing.
  • Participate in advising, orientation, registration, scholarly and creative activities, campus and college committees, relevant projects, peer mentoring, assessment activities, program review, and student organization activities as applicable.
  • Submit grades before final contract payment is released.
Desired Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish or conversational language abilities.
