Singapore tops Southeast Asia with 25 firms on Asia's best workplaces list.

Singapore tops Southeast Asia with 25 firms on Asia's best workplaces list. Technology remained the country's most represented industry. Singapore placed 25 companies on Great Place to Work's 2026 Best Workplaces in Asia list, the highest number amongst Southeast Asian markets. The city-state ranked fifth across Asia by company count, behind the United Arab Emirates with 42, India with 40, Greater China with 39 and Japan with 34. Join Singapore Business Review community Of Singapore's 25 entrants, 20 were classified as large workplaces with at least 500 employees in Asia. The remaining five were in the small and medium category, covering companies with 50 to 499 employees. Hilton retained the top position in Asia for a second consecutive year. Marriott International ranked second, followed by Cisco, AbbVie and DHL. All five companies were represented on Singapore's list. Micron Technology also entered the regional top 10 after rising 12 places to seventh. Information technology formed the largest industry group in Singapore's tally, with six companies, including Cisco in third place, Visa in 39th and Mastercard in 65th. Manufacturing and production followed with four entrants, whilst hospitality and biotechnology and pharmaceuticals had three each. Singapore's companies represented 10 industries in total. Singapore was also the only Southeast Asian market with companies from the real estate sector on the list. JustCo placed fifth in the small and medium category, whilst Pontiac Land Group ranked 97th. Ten Singapore entrants were new to the Asia ranking, including Allianz, Experian, Mastercard, Heineken, JustCo, Home Nursing Foundation and Pontiac Land Group. Visa recorded the largest improvement among Singapore's entrants, climbing 19 places from 58th to 39th. Micron Technology and Amgen each advanced 12 positions, with Amgen reaching 50th. The regional list comprises 200 companies, divided equally between the large and small and medium categories. Placement was determined entirely by employee survey responses, with no judging panel involved. Employees assessed areas such as leadership accessibility and honesty, fairness in pay and promotion, and whether their work was meaningful. The 2026 ranking drew more than 3.8 million individual responses from companies employing over 8.9 million people across 36 countries and territories.

Hilton tops 2026 Best Workplaces in Asia as regional hotel workforce reaches 99,000.

Hilton tops 2026 Best Workplaces in Asia as regional hotel workforce reaches 99,000. Great Place to Work ranks Hilton first among large employers in Asia as the hotel group marks a decade of regional workplace recognition and continued expansion Hilton has been ranked No. 1 among large employers on Great Place to Work's 2026 Best Workplaces in Asia list as its Asia-Pacific workforce grows to more than 99,000 team members. KEY TAKEAWAYS * Hilton ranks No. 1 in the large-company category on Great Place to Work's 2026 Best Workplaces in Asia list. * Hilton says its Asia-Pacific workforce has grown from about 48,000 team members in 2017 to more than 99,000 in 2026 across more than 1,300 hotels. * The 2026 result marks Hilton's 10th consecutive year on the Asia list and its second consecutive year in the top position, according to the company. * Great Place to Work says the 2026 Asia rankings draw on more than 3.8 million employee responses representing 8.9 million workers across the region. (NEWS) SINGAPORE, Singapore, 2026-Sep-11 - /Travel PR News/ - Hilton has taken the top position in the large-company category of the Great Place to Work 2026 Best Workplaces in Asia ranking, giving the hotel group another high-profile employer accolade at a time when its workforce and property network are expanding rapidly across Asia Pacific. The independent workplace organisation's 2026 Best Workplaces in Asia list places Hilton first among large employers, ahead of Marriott International in second place, Cisco in third and Intercontinental Hotels Group in sixth. Great Place to Work says the ranking is based on more than 3.8 million confidential employee responses representing the workplace experiences of about 8.9 million people across Asia and the Middle East. For Hilton, the result also extends a longer run of workplace recognition. In its announcement of the 2026 result, the company said this is its 10th consecutive year on the Asia list and its second year running in the No. 1 position. Hilton also describes itself as the region's top-ranked hospitality employer for the past decade. Workforce growth changes the scale of Hilton's people strategy. The significance of the ranking is amplified by the size of Hilton's regional expansion. The company says more than 99,000 team members now work across a network of more than 1,300 hotels in Asia Pacific, compared with approximately 48,000 employees in 2017. That means the workforce has more than doubled over the period in which Hilton has been appearing on the regional workplace list. For a hotel company, that growth creates a human-resources challenge that extends well beyond hiring. New openings require general managers, department heads, culinary teams, front-office staff, engineers, sales teams and a wide range of operational roles, while existing employees need clearer routes to move between brands, properties and markets as the network becomes larger. Hilton says it has responded by investing in leadership and career-development programmes including SHINE, its general-manager development initiative, the Luxury Leaders Program, Women in Leadership and a range of early-talent programmes. The company also points to internal mobility as a central part of its regional talent strategy. Alan Watts, president of Asia Pacific at Hilton, said the recognition reflects the way the company supports career growth and a sense of belonging while continuing to expand. Hilton's workforce growth, he said, makes maintaining that culture increasingly important as the company enters more communities and destinations. Technology and flexible work enter the hotel employment mix. Hilton's workplace strategy is also evolving alongside changes in how hotels recruit and schedule employees. According to the company, gig-work programmes have been introduced in Greater China and Japan, while AI-supported scheduling and automation are being used to reduce routine administrative work and give operational teams more time for guest-facing activity. Those initiatives illustrate a wider shift in hotel employment, where labour availability, employee expectations and technology are changing how operators organise frontline work. Hilton says it is also using recruitment technology to handle hiring at greater scale while trying to maintain a more personal candidate experience. Its employee proposition extends beyond career development. The group's Thrive@Hilton platform includes wellbeing support, coaching and counselling, while Hilton says some markets provide additional benefits for employees and their families. The company also operates recognition initiatives such as Thrive Sabbatical and MyStay@Hilton. Patsy Ng, senior vice president for human resources in Asia Pacific at Hilton, said the company's priority is to maintain support and career pathways as its workforce expands into new markets. Employee feedback sits at the centre of the ranking. Great Place to Work's methodology gives the 2026 result additional context. The organisation says its Trust Index survey asks employees about leadership, respect, fairness, pride, colleagues and the meaning they find in their work. Companies must first qualify through national workplace lists before being considered for the regional Asia ranking. For the 2026 list, Great Place to Work separates large employers from small and medium-sized organisations. Hilton appears at No. 1 in the large-company category, while several other hospitality businesses also feature prominently, underscoring the sector's competition for talent as hotel development continues across the region. The organisation says only employee survey data can secure a place on the list, although additional information about workplace programmes may be considered for context. It also requires minimum response thresholds designed to make the survey results representative of each participating workforce. Hilton's 2026 recognition follows workplace wins cited by the company across markets including China, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia and New Zealand, with further hospitality-employer recognition in Australia, Indonesia and Singapore. The company also says it was named Best Workplace for Women in Japan for the first time. As Hilton continues to add hotels and employees across Asia Pacific, the more consequential test will be whether the workplace practices recognised at the regional level can remain consistent across an increasingly large and diverse network. The 2026 ranking suggests that, at least in the employee feedback measured by Great Place to Work, Hilton is currently maintaining that position while scaling.

Canopy Deer Valley opens in Park City, bringing Hilton lifestyle brand to Utah ski country.

Canopy Deer Valley opens in Park City, bringing Hilton lifestyle brand to Utah ski country. The 180-room hotel is among the first properties serving Deer Valley East Village, with immediate gondola access, mountain-inspired interiors and four original dining concepts. Canopy Deer Valley has opened in Park City with 180 rooms, immediate access to the Jordanelle Express Gondola and four food and beverage concepts. KEY TAKEAWAYS * Canopy Deer Valley has opened in Park City with 180 rooms, marking Canopy Hotels' first property in Utah and its first ski-resort location. * The hotel sits at the base of Deer Valley Resort with immediate access to the Jordanelle Express Gondola and is about 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport. * Interiors by DLR Group | BraytonHughes draw on Park City's mining history and mountain setting through natural materials, custom furnishings and locally inspired details. * Four original dining concepts - Tavolona, Fornetto, Mountain Provisions and Alpine Attic - form a major part of the hotel's guest and local offering. (NEWS) PARK CITY, Utah, United States, 2026-Sep-11 - /Travel PR News/ - A new hotel has joined the fast-changing eastern gateway to Park City's ski terrain as Canopy Deer Valley opens with 180 rooms beside Deer Valley Resort's expanding East Village. The property marks the first Utah location for Canopy Hotels, Hilton's lifestyle brand, and its first opening in a ski-resort setting. Developed by Extell Development Company, the hotel is positioned among the early hospitality additions serving Deer Valley East Village, with immediate access to the Jordanelle Express Gondola and a location roughly 40 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport. According to Hilton's September 10 opening announcement, the hotel is intended to work as a year-round base for skiing, outdoor recreation and visits to Park City, rather than functioning only as a winter property. Its opening adds rooms, restaurants and public gathering spaces as development continues around the resort's new eastern portal. A hotel opening tied to Deer Valley's expansion. The timing places Canopy Deer Valley alongside a much larger transformation of the resort. Deer Valley Resort describes East Village as a new portal area anchoring its major terrain expansion, with skier services, retail and dining being added as the resort grows eastward. The broader expansion began introducing new terrain and lift infrastructure for the 2025/26 winter season. For hotel guests, the practical advantage is direct access to the mountain without first travelling through central Park City. Hilton says the property sits at the base of Deer Valley Resort, close to the East Village development and the Jordanelle Express Gondola, while Historic Main Street and the wider Park City dining and cultural scene remain within driving distance. Andrew Carey, general manager of Canopy Deer Valley, said the hotel was designed to connect visitors with the character of the destination through its rooms, locally influenced dining and partnerships with area businesses and artisans. The property is intended to serve both travelling guests and the surrounding community as East Village continues to develop. Mining history and mountain scenery shape the interiors. Interior design by DLR Group | BraytonHughes takes cues from Park City's mining past and Deer Valley's mountain landscape. Rather than reproducing a traditional lodge literally, the design combines industrial references with warm wood finishes, layered textures and residential-style spaces. The exterior uses locally sourced stone and thermally modified wood, while public areas are arranged around spaces for gathering before or after time on the mountain. Inside the guestrooms, custom furnishings and natural materials continue the same theme. Hilton says headboards reference outdoor performance equipment, while rugs take inspiration from ski tracks across fresh snow. Large windows frame views toward Deer Valley Resort and the Jordanelle Reservoir, and rooms include storage intended to make it easier to manage ski gear and other outdoor equipment. The hotel's official site also lists a fitness centre, sauna and steam room among its guest amenities. Four dining concepts broaden the East Village offer. Food and beverage is a substantial part of the opening. Executive Chef Scott Rackliff, whose previous experience includes Eleven Madison Park and Daniel Boulud's Dinex Group in New York, leads a programme built around four separate venues. Tavolona is the hotel's Italian trattoria, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Fornetto, located alongside it, is a more informal lounge serving antipasti, cicchetti, pizza, local beer and cocktails. Mountain Provisions operates as a café and provisions shop with grab-and-go food and coffee from Park City Coffee Roasters. The fourth venue, Alpine Attic, occupies the rooftop and combines mountain views with food, drinks and seasonal programming. Hilton says the culinary team plans to work with regional suppliers where possible, including Utah producers such as PaMaw's Organic Farm and Wasatch Meats. Together, the four concepts give the hotel a larger role than accommodation alone. They are being marketed to local residents as well as overnight guests, adding another cluster of places to eat and meet as Deer Valley East Village develops into a more complete resort village. A new Utah foothold for Canopy. The opening also expands Canopy Hotels into a new type of destination for the brand. Alexandra Coleman, vice president and global brand leader for Canopy Hotels, described Deer Valley as both the brand's Utah debut and its first ski-resort opening. For travellers, the property combines a recognised hotel loyalty platform with a location designed around direct mountain access. Canopy Deer Valley participates in Hilton Honors, while its location gives visitors another accommodation option on the East Village side of the resort rather than requiring a stay closer to Park City's historic centre. As East Village adds more lodging, dining, retail and recreation, Canopy Deer Valley becomes one of the first completed hotel pieces of that broader destination build-out. Its opening brings 180 additional rooms to the area now, while giving travellers a clearer picture of how Deer Valley's new eastern gateway is beginning to function as a year-round resort district.
