  • The candidate should be able to collaborate across teams without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain a consistent process for moving materials from Ridwell warehouses to recycling, reuse and commodity partners.
  • Execute quality standards and auditing processes to ensure materials are accurately processed and dispositioned.
  • Monitor material aging and warehouse capacity so inventory does not accumulate unnecessarily.
  • Establish visibility into material weight, pallet location, age and disposition status.
  • Work with market Operations teams and Partnerships to anticipate capacity constraints before they become operating problems.
  • Manage service expectations and operating cadence with material partners.
  • Take operational ownership of freight scheduling and transportation associated with material disposition.
  • Coordinate with brokers and carriers and monitor rates, lanes and service performance.
  • Identify unnecessary brokerage premiums and flag opportunities for direct-carrier relationships where they may create better economics.
  • Develop freight cost-per-pound and cost-per-lane visibility.
  • Ensure transportation decisions balance cost, service, material volume and warehouse capacity.
  • Use warehouse job codes and material weight data to track processing cost by material category.
  • Develop visibility into labor hours, cost per pound and incremental disposal expense.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to track contribution and total cost by material stream.
  • Use cost analysis when evaluating existing materials and new featured pickup categories.
  • Help determine whether new material programs make operational and financial sense before they are launched broadly.
  • Complete return-on-investment and payback analysis for equipment purchases and process changes using established assumptions and methodologies.
  • Include labor savings, throughput improvement, disposal cost, freight impact, utilization and expected useful life when evaluating investments.
  • Establish clear assumptions before an investment is approved, measure results after implementation to determine whether expected returns were achieved, and use a repeatable framework for evaluating future equipment and process investments.
  • Work closely with Partnerships as new recycling, reuse and commodity relationships are developed.
  • Provide operational and financial input before new material programs or partner commitments are finalized.
  • Translate partner requirements into executable warehouse, transportation and disposition plans.
  • Identify operational requirements, costs and constraints early rather than after programs launch.
  • Maintain clear accountability between the team developing partner relationships and the team owning operational execution.
  • Maintain a focused set of operating metrics that make material performance visible across markets.
  • Establish regular reporting on material processing cost per pound, freight cost per pound, inventory weight by material, material aging or days in warehouse, warehouse capacity utilization, disposition cycle time, partner service performance, disposal and incremental handling fees, and equipment return on investment and payback.
  • Use data to identify problems, improve processes and support better decision-making rather than simply producing reports.

About the company

Ridwell provides a subscription-based waste collection service that helps households recycle hard-to-recycle items. It offers door-to-door pickups every two weeks, picking up items like plastic film, batteries, light bulbs, and threads that are typically discarded. The collected waste is then recycled or reused by Ridwell's vetted partners. This makes recycling more convenient for households and keeps more material out of landfills. Ridwell differentiates itself by focusing specifically on hard-to-recycle items, offering a neighborhood-based, recurring pickup model, and building a community around waste reduction. The company’s goal is to reduce landfill waste and foster a culture of recycling and reuse.

What believers are saying

  • Ridwell launched a 2026 threads pilot with Cycla and Phoenix Fibers, increasing membership value.
  • B Corp certification in March 2026 strengthens employer branding and sustainability credibility.
  • Ridwell claims nearly 45 million pounds diverted, supporting expansion, schools drives, and airline pilots.

What critics are saying

  • Paid recycling draws backlash; Fig City News reported public debate in July 2026.
  • Unionized drivers and warehouse workers at Ridwell expanded Teamsters pressure from 2024 into 2026.
  • If partner outlets tighten, Ridwell's niche-material model collapses into an expensive logistics business.

What makes Ridwell unique

  • Ridwell runs scheduled doorstep pickups for hard-to-recycle items, not curbside commodity recycling.
  • Its 2026 threads pilot splits reusable clothing from recyclable textiles, widening diversion capture.
  • Ridwell says it vets roughly 350 partners across 11 warehouse regions for niche material outlets.

Clif Family Relaunches Organic Nut Mix Line with Gluten Free Certification and Enhanced Sustainability

Clif Family relaunches Organic Nut mix line with Gluten Free certification and enhanced sustainability. New chef-driven recipes, cleaner ingredients, and eco-conscious packaging deliver better-for-you snacks with a lower environmental footprint January 20, 2026 - St. Helena, Calif. - Clif Family Winery & Farm is proud to announce the relaunch of its complete line of organic nut mixes, now featuring Gluten Free Certified Organic (GFCO) certification, upgraded recipes crafted by Executive Chef Magnus Young, and more sustainable packaging designed to reduce environmental impact. All six varieties have been reformulated with a focus on flavor, ingredient quality, and nutritional enhancement, while meeting rigorous new certification standards. The relaunch reflects Clif Family's ongoing commitment to creating products that are better for people and the planet. "We approached these the same way we do any recipe coming out of our kitchen - starting with flavor first," said Magnus Young, Executive Chef at Clif Family. "We're always thinking about how our food shows up at the table, whether it's alongside a glass of our wine or worked into a recipe, so that meant rethinking every seasoning, every ingredient, and really dialing in something that's simply delicious and meant to be shared." The reformulated nut mixes feature several significant improvements. All six offerings now carry official Gluten Free Certified Organic certification, meeting the growing demand from consumers who shop gluten free due to celiac disease, gluten sensitivity, or to accommodate others with dietary restrictions. The new recipes also feature cleaner ingredient formulations throughout the line. By replacing refined sugars with organic coconut sugar, all products now contain just 1-2 grams of sugar per serving, aligning with consumer demand for healthier snack options. In partnership with EcoEnclose of Louisville, Colorado, Clif Family has transitioned to new 4-ounce pouches made with 33-90% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. Independent sustainability analysis revealed significant environmental benefits compared to the previous packaging: * 25% reduction in energy demand * 22% reduction in carbon emissions * 23% reduction in water use "This packaging change represents a meaningful step forward in our sustainability journey," said Sarah Richmond, Director of Operations and Sustainability at Clif Family. "By incorporating post-consumer recycled content, we're significantly reducing our environmental footprint while maintaining the quality and freshness our customers expect." Clif Family has implemented a Take Back program through their partnership with Ridwell, giving customers a convenient way to recycle the new pouches. The new Gluten Free Certified Organic Nut Mixes are available at Erewhon, Bubble Goods, Our Farms and directly from the Clif Family website. In 2004, Clif Bar co-creators Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford embarked on a new venture, founding Clif Family Winery & Farm based on their shared commitment to crafting delicious, small-batch food and wine while prioritizing the well-being of people, the planet, and the community. Guided by a dedication to the highest quality with the lowest environmental impact, Clif Family is a certified B Corp committed to organic food and farming, sustainable production, zero waste, and conserving and restoring our natural resources. Our portfolio includes organically farmed Napa Valley wines and specialty foods, including a Napa Nash Hot Sauce, Savory Nut Mixes, Fruit Preserves, Wine Jellies and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Clif Family farms 90 acres of organic vineyards and a 10-acre vegetable garden, olive grove and fruit orchard in the Napa Valley.
