Hasbro raises outlook as revenue climbs 15%, driven by Magic cards and licensing

Hasbro raised its full-year outlook after third-quarter 2026 revenue grew 15% year over year, the company said on its earnings call on October 20, 2026. Wider trading card distribution and structural cost cuts are lifting profitability. Chief executive officer Christian Cocks said partnerships with popular entertainment franchises are drawing new players to Magic: The Gathering. Distribution to mass retailers and independent hobby shops has increased participation in store tournaments. Hasbro's asset-light licensing model, where partners fund manufacturing, generates nearly $700 million in annual revenue across consumer products, digital, and entertainment. Chief financial officer Gina Goetter said supply chain gains, lower distribution costs, and tighter spending offset higher input costs. She said 2026 is the peak investment year for digital gaming, so margins at Wizards of the Coast should keep expanding.

Hasbro posts record Q3 as Magic revenue tops $600M and buyback target doubles to $400M

Hasbro posted record profitability in the third quarter of 2026, driven by Magic: The Gathering, whose revenue topped $600 million in a single quarter for the first time. The Wizards segment gained from "Universes Beyond" releases, including The Hobbit, which drew new fans. Consumer Products margins rose for a fourth straight quarter, helped by a $48 million one-time benefit from tariff refunds. About $40 million in Magic revenue expected in the fourth quarter was pulled into the third. Hasbro doubled its full-year share repurchase target from $200 million to $400 million. It expects Magic to grow in 2027, with six major releases planned. The digital game Exodus launches April 7, 2027, followed by the Dungeons & Dragons title Warlock later that year.

Hasbro moves HQ from Rhode Island to Boston after 100 years, putting 587 jobs at risk

Hasbro, maker of Monopoly and Dungeons and Dragons, is moving its headquarters from Pawtucket, Rhode Island, to Boston after nearly 100 years. A WARN notice filed with Rhode Island covers about 587 employees, though the numbers are not confirmed. Affected staff have been offered jobs in Boston starting January 4, 2027. Those who do not transfer are expected to lose their jobs from December 24, 2026. The company first said at least 700 full-time employees were expected to move. The filing does not explain the gap. The move comes despite strong results. Second-quarter 2026 revenue rose 16% and operating profit was about $253 million. Hasbro plans to sell its Pawtucket headquarters after the move.

Disney+ dumped them, Netflix walked away, and now Amazon wants the Power Rangers.

Disney+ dumped them, Netflix walked away, and now Amazon wants the Power Rangers. It's go-go time for Power Rangers fans, but only after a very long wait. The hunt for a home for the next live-action Power Rangers series has stretched across multiple streamers, and every promising lead seems to power down before it reaches the screen. Watch next. The franchise that began in 1993 with 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers' has spawned plenty of seasons, offshoots and movies since. Its most recent chapters landed on Netflix, including 'Power Rangers Dino Fury', 'Power Rangers Cosmic Fury' and the 2023 reunion special 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always', which marked the 30th anniversary. Since then, though, fans have had very little to cheer about on the live-action front. Hasbro has owned the brand since buying it from Saban in 2018, and it has been trying to launch a fresh live-action series ever since. A Netflix project that spent more than 2 years in development eventually stopped moving forward in 2024, with Hasbro saying it would explore a new creative direction with a new partner. That partner appeared to be found in March 2025, when 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz were reported to be developing a reinvention for Disney+. Hasbro would produce, with 20th Television as the studio. Then, in August 2026, Deadline reported that Disney+ had cancelled the project. Now comes the latest twist. According to recent insider chatter, Amazon is in active talks to take over development of a new Power Rangers project for Prime Video. Some versions of the rumor say the discussions could involve either a TV series or a movie, and no official details about format or release plans have been confirmed. It's important to stress that this remains unconfirmed. Neither Amazon nor Hasbro has publicly commented, so fans should treat the news as a rumor rather than a done deal. Still, the possibility gives the franchise a fresh route forward after 2 high-profile setbacks. The reasons behind the Disney+ cancellation matter here. Deadline reported that the decision was driven by budget rather than creative differences. Delivering the elaborate costumes, effects and large-scale action that modern audiences expect for a Power Rangers show requires a big investment. There was also a business question at play. Because Hasbro owns the brand, Disney had to weigh whether spending that kind of money on another company's property made sense when it could fund projects from its own portfolio. That logic doesn't apply the same way to every streamer, which may be why a deep-pocketed rival is now interested. Amazon has already shown a willingness to work with Hasbro. Nerdist previously noted that Amazon MGM Studios and Hasbro were working on a live-action 'Jem and the Holograms' series, and it even suggested Hasbro should partner with Amazon on a live-action 'Power Rangers' show. A 'Masters of the Universe' movie, another toy-driven franchise, also moved to Amazon MGM Studios with a June 2026 release date. The comparison isn't perfect, but the similarities are hard to ignore. Both brands are decades-old toy properties with devoted nostalgic fan bases and a lot of untapped potential. Ubergizmo's report also notes that Amazon has been aggressively expanding its catalog of major intellectual properties and nerd-culture staples to drive long-term subscriber engagement. While the live-action series searches for a home, Hasbro has kept the brand visible in other ways. It has been releasing a 4K remastered version of the original series, titled 'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Re-Ignition', on YouTube, along with bite-sized shorts drawn from the 1990s episodes. It also licensed a new toy line to Playmates, which launched in the fall of 2025. The comics are keeping things going too. BOOM! Studios launched 'Power Rangers Prime' in November 2024, an ongoing series that reimagines the mythos for a new era. Together, these efforts show that Hasbro is working to keep interest alive until a major screen project finally lands. The franchise's recent history on the big screen has also been bumpy. The 2017 'Power Rangers' reboot reportedly earned about $142 million worldwide against a $100 million budget, which was seen as a disappointment despite generally positive reception. It's a reminder that success for this property depends on the right budget and the right partner. For now, fans will need patience. A rumored negotiation is a long way from a greenlight, and the franchise has been burned by false starts before. But if the talks lead somewhere, Prime Video could finally give the Rangers the home they've been missing. Would you like to see a new live-action Power Rangers series on Prime Video?
