Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in psychology, social work, or other related human services degree.
  • Master degree in psychology, social work, or other related human services degree.
  • Must have a valid Colorado Driver’s license and a recent clean driving record; ability to transport the people served in your vehicle; ability to obtain and carry Business Use coverage on your auto policy (additional cost reimbursed).
  • Must have safe, dependable vehicle to transport person served with a valid Colorado Driver License/good driving record.
  • TB screening and testing is required prior to hire and must be maintained during employment.
  • This role is on-site in the Greater Denver Metro area; employees will work at WellPower’s Recovery Center with time spent in the community.
Responsibilities
  • Assist caseload in meeting basic needs for food, clothing, shelter, personal safety, and general medical and dental care, and assist with applications for income, medical, housing, or other benefits and to establish protective payee-ship as necessary.
  • Ensure persons assigned have access to needed services and community resources by arranging transportation, or transporting a person served in their personal vehicle (business insurance reimbursed).
  • Provide comprehensive psychosocial services that include a continuum of high and low intensity services designed to improve or maintain person’s abilities to function in normal social roles.
  • Identify strengths and symptoms to facilitate goal setting and connection to resources.
  • Educate and empower progress in daily living skills such as medication use, diet, exercise, personal hygiene, shopping, cooking, budgeting, housekeeping, transportation use, and other community services.
  • Help individuals on the caseload develop social skills, interests, and leisure activities for participation and personal worth, including culturally appropriate daytime and evening activities.
  • Support individuals in finding and connecting to appropriate employment opportunities, vocational rehabilitation services, or supported work environments where appropriate.
  • Assist in locating rehabilitative or supportive housing arrangements with flexibility to encourage increasing independence.
  • Offer support, consultation, and education to families, friends, landlords, employers, and community agencies to maximize support and reduce stigma.
  • Identify and work with potential natural support systems such as neighborhood networks, churches, and community organizations.
  • Make full utilization of support systems to encourage treatment program engagement.
  • Maintain a trauma-informed environment of wellbeing.
  • Other duties as assigned

WellPower opens walk-in clinic for same-day opioid addiction treatment in Denver

WellPower, Colorado's largest community mental health centre, has opened a Medication-Assisted Treatment Walk-In Clinic in Denver to provide immediate, low-barrier care for people experiencing opioid use disorder or withdrawal. The clinic offers same-day support without appointments. The evidence-based model combines peer supporters with lived recovery experience, pharmacists and mental health clinicians. Services include same-day medication for withdrawal symptoms, short-term prescriptions and referrals to ongoing treatment programmes. Located at WellPower's Recovery Centre at 4455 E. 12th Ave., the clinic currently operates Wednesdays from 1:00 to 16:30, with plans to expand hours. The initiative responds to rising overdose deaths in Colorado and Denver. WellPower serves over 22,000 individuals annually across 30 sites and nearly 200 community locations.
