Requirements
  • Have 4–10 years of experience across some combination of management consulting, investment banking, private equity, strategy and operations, or enterprise sales.
  • Have experience working with senior buyers and owning outcomes.
  • Build defensible return-on-investment cases by extracting context from operators and finance.
  • Understand how AI agents work well enough to explain why one approach fits a workflow and another does not, and know when to involve agent product managers.
  • Communicate clearly in writing and speaking using concise sentences, real numbers, and minimal jargon.
Responsibilities
  • Own the enterprise deal cycle from first conversation to signed master services agreement, including driving pace, sequencing stakeholders, and navigating procurement, security, and legal.
  • Lead discovery from strategic objectives through top use cases and workflow automation candidates, and assess the customer's current operations, systems, handoffs, staffing, and failure points.
  • Identify and develop business cases with customers by extracting context from operators and finance, and enable champions to advocate for the solution internally.
  • Lead meetings with chief operating officers, chief information officers, and vice presidents of operations; translate AI agents into operational language and operational needs into product requirements.
  • Provide customer and deal insights to product, engineering, and go-to-market teams, including unmet requests, effective positioning, and future opportunities.
  • Close six enterprise pilots within the first six months.
  • Develop a qualification framework for future Engagement Managers.
  • Inform product roadmap decisions through customer deals.
Desired Qualifications
  • Current startup experience in a Series A–D environment.
  • Experience in logistics, transportation, field services, manufacturing, or retail operations.

Runbook builds AI agents that handle routine business communications automatically. These agents can quote jobs, confirm schedules, and chase vendors, replacing back-and-forth emails and calls so teams move faster and win more business. How it works: The product uses AI to monitor and engage in common workflows—generating quotes, replying to scheduling requests, and following up with vendors—without human intervention, while keeping track of the progress and updates in the system. How it’s different: It focuses specifically on automating back-office and sales-ops communications that usually require many emails and calls. By handling end-to-end messaging within existing workflows, it reduces manual work and keeps deals and projects moving forward more quickly than traditional manual processes. Goal: To help businesses operate faster and increase revenue by turning repetitive communications into automated tasks that run in the background.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Runbook's July 2026 site says customers get live deployments in days.
  • LinkedIn shows a 2025 San Francisco startup, supporting fresh founding momentum.
  • Agent Ops hiring suggests active customer demand and ongoing implementation volume.

What critics are saying

  • Runbook has only 2-10 employees, so enterprise delivery strains execution.
  • Hiring agent-ops roles in Bengaluru signals heavy manual deployment work, limiting scaling.
  • Competitors like Goose, Retell, and suite vendors can copy workflow automation fast.

What makes Runbook unique

  • Runbook sells AI agents for physical-economy workflows, not generic office automation.
  • Its product runs inside existing systems, turning tribal ops knowledge into executable agents.
  • The company targets quote-schedule-chase-vendor work, a painful, workflow-heavy niche.
