Requirements
  • Experience working in system integration, design proving and trials, naval integration, missile test, interface design, system assessment and acceptance, design verification, electrical or mechanical construction and interfacing, electronic design or test, or network integration.
  • Ability to communicate with internal customers, subcontractors, partners, and suppliers at engineering and management levels.
Responsibilities
  • Work with the systems engineering and design teams to plan, generate, and execute trials.
  • Liaise with the systems engineering and design teams to ensure adequate trials data is acquired and to investigate and resolve design issues.
  • Generate trials documentation.
  • Prepare, deliver, and follow up internal and external Trials Readiness Reviews.
  • Conduct post-trials data analysis and reporting.
  • Conduct or support laboratory-based functional integration trials and system trials, ground-based trials, harbour trials, sea trials, firing trials, and trials in foreign countries.
  • Assist with laboratory management responsibilities, including maintaining risk assessments, asset management, hosting audits, and maintaining laboratory safety.
  • Maintain hardware and software configuration control.
  • Travel within the UK and abroad.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody, or RTC.
  • Experience with coding, especially Python.

Muse expands North West team with six appointments.

Muse expands North West team with six appointments. James Alderson, Nathan Chase, Nick Self, Ben Taylor, Jake Hall and Jokotola Adenuga have joined the team. Muse has expanded its North West team with six new appointments at its Salford office. James Alderson has joined as project director, bringing more than 37 years of experience in the built environment sector. Alderson previously worked as project director on the £120m Stopford Park regeneration in Stockport and has held senior roles at Cityheart, Investar Property Group, Mulbury, Arcadis and Grosvenor. Nathan Chase has rejoined Muse as senior project manager after leading capital investment projects for MBDA UK. Nick Self joins with more than a decade of experience in the property sector, most recently working with Peabody Group in London where he delivered hundreds of new homes in Thamesmead. Ben Taylor has joined from Renaker, bringing experience in high-rise residential developments across Manchester. Jake Hall joins from Scarborough Group International, with expertise in design coordination, procurement and site delivery. Meanwhile, Jokotola Adenuga has been appointed as graduate development manager after achieving a First Class Honours degree in urban planning and real estate from University College London. India initiates efforts to join French 'Future Combat Air System' for 6th-gen aircraft development. ANI 08 Aug 2026, 13:59 GMT+ New Delhi [India], August 8 (ANI): The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has informed a Parliamentary Standing Committee that it has initiated 'concerted' efforts to join the French-led 6th Generation fighter aircraft development programme, known as the Future Combat Air System (FCAS). In the Twenty-Fifth Report of the Standing Committee on Defence (2025-26), tabled in the Lok Sabha, the Ministry outlined its roadmap for securing next-generation aerial combat capabilities. 'The Ministry of Defence has initiated efforts in a concerted manner to co-join the 6th Generation Fighter Aircraft Development Programme viz. Future Combat Air System (FCAS) spearheaded by the French Government,' the MoD stated in its submission to the panel. The report, which details 'Action Taken' by the government on recommendations regarding Demands for Grants for 2026-27, highlights India's intent to leapfrog from current 4.5 and 5th generation platforms to 6th generation technology. Meanwhile, in a significant development in the 114 Rafale jet deal, France has submitted its detailed technical and commercial proposal to India for the deal, which will include large-scale local manufacturing and production of the multi-role combat aircraft. The Rafale aircraft are likely to become one of the mainstays of the Indian Air Force in future and were chosen in 2012 by the Defence Ministry after a long global competition. The French officials have submitted their response to the Indian Letter of Request for buying 114 Rafale multirole fighter jets, and it is being studied by the Acquisition Wing of the Defence Ministry and the Indian Air Force, Defence sources told ANI. The Indian side would be closely analysing the French response to Indian demand for integrating Indian weapons like the variants of the Astra air-to-air missiles and indigenous content in the aircraft under the deal, they said. The French side has to manufacture 94 out of the 114 aircraft in india with a local industry partner, and this would be done by all the partners of the French Dassault Aviation, including missile manufacturer MBDA, engine maker Safran and Thales. A significant amount of indigenisation is expected in the deal, which is likely to provide opportunities worth around Rs 1.6 lakh crore to Indian industry players including Tata, Larsen and Toubro and others. India had issued the Letter of Request (LoR) to France for the mega government-to-government deal for 114 Rafale fighter jets for the Indian Air Force in May this year. The aircraft are critical for meeting the critical requirements of the Indian Air Force as its squadron strength is dwindling due to the phasing out of the vintage aircraft, including the variants of the Russian-origin MiG fighter jets and major delays in the induction of indigenous aircraft like the LCA Mark1A and LCA Mark 2. While the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy have placed orders for 62 Rafale planes already, the 114 Rafale order will take the numbers to 176. The Indian Navy has also already expressed its intent to induct 31 more of these planes to tackle maritime threats, and that may take the number of Rafales in the country to over 200. Defence Ministry had carried out a major study under Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh to enhance the capability of the Indian Air Force soon after he took over in 2024 and the Defence Ministry has been working towards that in a focused manner. MBDA - the integrator. July 31, 2026 At the Farnborough International Airshow General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. (GA-ASI) and MBDA signed a memorandum of understanding that outlined an agreement to work together to ensure the MQ-9B remotely piloted aircraft and Gambit 6 collaborative combat aircraft (CCA) can carry and use the air-launched Surface Attack Weapon, SPEAR. GA-ASI has completed weapons testing for the Royal Air Force's Protector RG Mk1 Remotely Piloted Aircraft, qualifying both the Paveway IV laser-guided bomb and the MBDA Brimstone 3 air-to-surface missile for launch from the MQ-9B. Testing was completed on 18 June at GA-ASI's facilities in Southern California. MBDA told AI that it is focusing on integrating its range of weapons with other legacy uncrewed medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aerial systems (UAS). At Farnborough, MBDA UK also unveiled a Raven 5 surface-to-air missile (SAM) system fitted with two missiles from the prospective Italian Fulgur MANPADS. Integration comes amid the growing prominence of UAS on the battlefield and the need for an effective means of countering them. The Raven fire MBDA UK produced ASRAAM anti-air missiles, and the system was originally developed at the start of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine in response to a Ukrainian request for more NATO-standard weapons. The system was developed in just four months at the initiative of the RAF's Air and Space Warfare Centre, which proposed mounting short-range ASRAAM air-to-air missiles on the readily available Supercat HMT-600 platform to create a ground-based air defence (GBAD) system. By 2025, 13 units had been delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and its ASRAAM missiles had achieved a reported success rate of 70% across 400 launches. The latest variant Raven 5 is equipped with four launch rails on a 360° rotating mount developed by Moog. MBDA UK is also exploring the integration of ASRAAM missiles onto other platforms and legacy launchers, and potential future platforms could include the Rapier SAM system and other containerised launcher configurations. MBDA also displayed SL-ASRAAM, an agile, low-cost, and immediate solution for a Mobile Short Range Air Defence (SHORAD) system. SL-ASRAAM has the necessary interfaces to integrate seamlessly into wider battlefield networks, provide a true integrated air and missile defence capability. by David Oliver
