Requirements
  • Proven experience building and managing an AI organization while doing hands-on technical work and actively contributing to the codebase.
  • At least 10 years of experience in AI, software engineering, machine learning architecture, robotics, intelligent systems, or complex technical platforms.
  • Direct experience with robotics, autonomous systems, industrial systems, physics-informed machine learning, reinforcement learning, control systems, simulation, digital twins, or real-world telemetry.
  • Deep experience designing and building production-grade AI, machine learning, data, or software infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Exceptional hands-on coding skills and the ability to manage data pipelines, model orchestration, validation, feedback loops, and complex real-world data.
  • Strong, up-to-date understanding of optimization, statistical modeling, and system-level artificial intelligence.
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
Responsibilities
  • Build and manage the AI organization while performing hands-on technical work, recruiting and mentoring the team, architecting AI modules, writing code, reviewing architecture, and building prototypes.
  • Design and develop intelligence layers that enable machines to interpret manufacturing intent, understand system deviations, and autonomously generate corrective actions.
  • Define how AI interacts with physics-based models, machine telemetry, sensor data, CNC programs, and manufacturing context.
  • Build AI systems to extract machining intent from G-code while accounting for operator variability, CAM differences, and varied programming styles.
  • Develop feedback loops that combine AI reasoning with physics-based models and sensor data so machines improve from each correction cycle and production result.
  • Create a scalable data architecture that captures manufacturing intelligence across machines, parts, tools, materials, and production environments.
  • Define simulation and validation environments for training, testing, and scaling autonomous correction models.
  • Contribute with other functional leaders to company strategy, technology and business roadmaps, and comprehensive project plans.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Agile startup experience combined with experience navigating the growth and product-focused phase at a major AI organization.
  • A track record of turning ambiguous, unsolved technical problems into reliable working systems without an established playbook.
  • A focus on building foundational, long-term scalable platforms and intelligent systems rather than standalone models.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • Marvell completed Celestial AI on February 2, 2026, validating Xora's thesis.
  • Xora led NeuBird AI's $19.3 million round on April 8, 2026.
  • Rosenblum's April 2026 hire expands U.S. sourcing across Bay Area AI founders.

What critics are saying

  • Xora's returns depend on a few AI infrastructure exits like Celestial AI.
  • Big funds and hyperscalers crowd Xora's target deals, squeezing ownership and entry prices.
  • If 2026-2028 portfolio exits stall, Temasek-backed momentum turns into a thesis failure.

What makes Xora Innovation unique

  • Temasek backs Xora, giving it sovereign capital and long-duration deep-tech patience.
  • Eric Rosenblum joined April 2026, adding Silicon Valley operating and investing credibility.
  • Xora targets AI infrastructure, Applied AI, and deep tech, not generic software.

HyperLight raises $80M Series C led by MediaTek to scale photonics for AI infrastructure

HyperLight Corporation, a thin-film lithium niobate photonics company, has raised $80 million in a Series C round led by MediaTek. The round included participation from UMC Capital, Jabil, Foxconn, EDBI, CDIB-TEN Capital and Qatar Investment Authority, alongside strategic investors from silicon IC and networking firms. The company develops TFLN technology for AI infrastructure optical interconnects, offering higher bandwidth and lower power consumption. Its TFLN Chiplet Platform supports 200G-per-lane operation, with 400G-per-lane solutions now sampling. HyperLight recently announced a manufacturing partnership with UMC and Wavetek for high-volume production on six-inch and eight-inch wafers. The funding will expand manufacturing capacity, accelerate customer qualification and scale the platform. CEO Mian Zhang said the round brings together companies across the AI infrastructure value chain.
