John Deere updates Z700 ZTrak mower lineup. The refreshed lineup includes both M- and R-Series models, including the Z720M, Z740M, Z740R and Z760R machines. Published September 15, 2026 John Deere has introduced its updated Z700 ZTrak mid-duty commercial mowers lineup. The new models feature commercial-grade components, refreshed styling and expanded warranty coverage. In addition, the Z700 models are designed to offer more capabilities and premium features than typically available on a model of its size, including upgraded engines, tires, mower decks, and operator stations. The refreshed lineup includes both M- and R-Series models, including the Z720M, Z740M, Z740R and Z760R machines. "Our Z700 lineup brings together many of the features our professional landscaping customers value most while also maintaining their simplicity and reliability, which operators have come to expect from a John Deere machine," says Luke Gribble, marketing manager, John Deere. Built around the Z700 platform, the refreshed lineup incorporates key features found across John Deere commercial mowing equipment. This includes the commercial-grade 7-Iron Pro mower deck across all models, a deck design also featured on the Z900 lineup. Designed with a 7-gauge deck shell, reinforced trim edge and discharge chute, durable cast aluminum spindle design and improved anti-scalp wheel placement, the deck is engineered to deliver increased cut quality while standing up to the demands of daily commercial mowing jobsites.

Deere reported Q2 revenues of $12.61 billion, up 4.9% year on year and exceeding analyst expectations by 1.4%. The agricultural machinery manufacturer also beat earnings per share estimates. Shares have risen 16.5% since the results were announced and currently trade at $676.41. Across the agricultural machinery sector, six tracked companies reported mixed Q2 results. Revenues met analyst consensus estimates, but guidance for next quarter came in 6.3% below expectations. Share prices have remained relatively stable, up 1.3% on average since earnings. Alamo delivered the strongest performance in the group, reporting revenues of $450.7 million, up 7.6% year on year and beating expectations by 3%. The stock has gained 3.2% since reporting.

Deere bringing 375+ employees back to QC facilities. A news release from the company said Deere plans to bring over 375 employees back to work across its Quad Cities factory operations. The company will return 150 employees to Seeding and Cylinder operations in Moline and about 225 employees to Harvester Works in East Moline. The additional workforce will help build dealer inventory before the upcoming planting and harvesting cycles, support long-term operational planning and position the company to continue serving customers through all operating environments, including future labor negotiations. The company has brought back or hired more than 800 employees across Iowa and Illinois since January. "Planning ahead is part of our commitment to customers and our manufacturing workforce," said Dustin Lemmon, spokesperson at John Deere. "We're pleased to welcome experienced team members back to our Quad Cities operations. Their skills and craftsmanship directly support the quality equipment our farmers and contractors depend on. Our focus remains on serving customers while continuing to work constructively with our workforce and union partners."
