About Kwetta

Kwetta is a New Zealand technology company building world-class EV charging systems for a global market.

We’re helping solve the big challenges in electrification by building ultra-fast charging hardware that unlocks the potential of existing power grids. What gets built in our Napier workshop heads to customers across New Zealand, Australia, and Europe.

We’re a team of smart, sleeves-rolled-up builders who work hard, care about quality, back each other, and genuinely enjoy what we do.

Help build the hardware powering the electrified future.

If you take pride in producing quality work, enjoy solving problems, want to grow your skills, and like being part of a team building something meaningful (with great music and awesome people along the way), we’d love to hear from you.

The role

As a Production Technician, you’ll play a hands-on role in building Kwetta’s EV charging systems to the highest standard.

From assembly and wiring through to testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, you’ll help turn world-class engineering into world-class product.

This is a role for someone who takes pride in precision, works well at pace, and enjoys being part of a team that solves problems together.

What We’re Looking For

• Relevant experience: You will fit one of these categories:
• • Strong practical skills, confidence using hand and power tools, and a desire to learn.
  • Auto electrician or someone with an auto electrical background.
  • 2+ years experience in an electrical assembly or manufacturing environment.
  • Recently qualified electrician.
  • EWRB registered third or fourth-year electrical apprentice - we'll support you to complete your qualification.

• Pride in quality work: You genuinely enjoy practical, hands-on work, take pride in doing things properly, and have the attention to detail to get things right the first time.
• A positive, proactive mindset: You’re the kind of person who spots issues, speaks up, helps solve problems, and brings a can-do attitude to the team.
• Comfort with pace and physical work: You’re comfortable in a physically hands-on environment and thrive in a fast-moving team where priorities can shift and everyone pitches in.
• Interest in meaningful technology: You’re excited by electrical technology, EV infrastructure, or the clean energy transition and want to help build something that matters.

What You Get

• A smart, supportive team: Work alongside capable people who care about what they do, back each other, and enjoy solving hard problems together.
• Support for life, not just work: Southern Cross health insurance, a yearly wellbeing benefit, and flexibility where it makes sense.
• A stake in what we’re building: We want our team to share in the value they help create through our employee share scheme.
• Real growth: Learn fast, build your capability, and grow alongside a company scaling globally.
• Meaningful work: Build technology that is helping accelerate the transition to electrification, not just another product rolling off a line.
• Life in Hawke’s Bay: Short commutes, beaches, wineries, sunshine, and a genuinely great lifestyle.
• Relocation support if you need it: Based in Auckland, Wellington, Hamilton, or elsewhere in New Zealand? If you’re the right fit, we’ll help make the move to Hawke’s Bay as smooth as possible.

If “that’s not my problem” sounds like something you’d say, this isn’t your role.

If you’re positive, proactive, take initiative, enjoy moving at pace, and like being part of a team that works hard, has fun, and doesn’t take itself too seriously, apply now. We’d love to hear your story.
