Korea Investment deepens global push with Fidelity, Pimco, Carlyle.

Korea Investment deepens global push with Fidelity, Pimco, Carlyle. Published: Sept. 10, 2026 - 15:00:32 Im Eun-byel Korea Investment & Securities, a subsidiary of Korea Investment Holdings, has entered into a series of strategic partnerships with leading global asset managers, including Fidelity, Pimco and Carlyle, expanding its portfolio across research, equity, fixed income and alternative investments, the firm announced Thursday. The company said the partnerships are significant in that its long-standing global business strategy has taken concrete shape through closer collaboration with some of the world's leading asset managers. On Monday, KIS signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Fidelity. Under the agreement, KIS will provide Korean investors exclusive access to Fidelity's broad research capabilities spanning global macro, equities, fixed income and multi-asset strategies, while also exploring joint product development and co-investment opportunities. The partnership's first joint product, a technology fund focused on Korea, China and the US, is currently under development. KIS then signed separate strategic collaboration agreements with Carlyle and Pimco in New York on Wednesday. With Pimco, KIS has signed a memorandum of understanding to expand partnership in discretionary asset management. For retail customers, the two will work to enhance exclusive research content in KIS's mobile trading system, drawing on Pimco's global market outlook and event-driven analysis. KIS also plans to regularly introduce a wider range of Pimco fund products to the Korean market and strengthen sales collaboration, improving domestic investors' access to global fixed income opportunities. Separately, KIS is deepening its alternative investment collaboration with Carlyle, with which it has maintained a close partnership since 2023. The two firms have signed an agreement for discretionary asset management, under which they will pursue investments funded through short-term money market vehicles. Through these partnerships, KIS intends to translate the expertise of global financial institutions into tangible value at the client level that spans products, research and wealth management. "KIS' role is about more than bringing in the products and insights of the world's top asset managers, but about carefully curating and delivering them in a way that meets the expectations and needs of Korean investors," said Miller Sung-Hwan Kim, President & CEO of Korea Investment & Securities. "By connecting the partnerships we have built over the years into products and services our clients can personally experience, we aim to ensure that global-standard financial services are accessible here in Korea as well." Fidelity employees head back to the office five days a week.

Fidelity employees head back to the office five days a week. By Natalie Khait, Boston 25 News Staff September 09, 2026 at 1:20 pm EDT NOW PLAYING ABOVE BOSTON - Thousands of employees at one of Boston's largest companies are back in the office after a hybrid schedule. Fidelity Investments is requiring its Boston-based employees to return to in-person work five days a week. The policy affects about 6,000 employees working at Fidelity's Fort Point Channel office and the company's new headquarters in the Seaport, which opened last week. The move ends Fidelity's hybrid work policy, which allowed employees to work in the office two out of every four weeks over the past two years. The return-to-office mandate marks a significant shift for employees who have been working under a more flexible schedule since the pandemic. This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available. (C) 2026 Cox Media Group

Published Sep 9, 2026 5:26 AM EDT A new headquarters brings a new work policy with it. Approximately 3,200 Fidelity Investments employees will be marking a full-time return to the office in a new 840,000-square-foot Boston headquarters at Commonwealth Pier, 245 Summer St., in the Seaport this week. The three-story Seaport complex anchors the headquarters in a repurposed 113-year-old building. It blends industrial design with Seaport style and offers amenities like courtyards, coffee bars, a library-like area, bike showers, and a restaurant-worthy bar. While the renovation's price range wasn't disclosed, projects of this scale typically run into hundreds of millions of dollars, according to a Boston Globe report. Historic elements of the building have been preserved, including exposed brick and steel beams, refurbished wooden decking, and a seamless blend of century-old architecture with modern amenities. The interior features extensive public-facing retail spaces, new restaurants, an expanded Harbor Walk, and a dedicated home for the Museum of American Finance, plus a community meeting room to satisfy permitting and tidelands requirements. Pembroke, Fidelity's real estate arm, led the renovation with design input from Schmidt Hammer Lassen. The Seaport redevelopment has transformed the World Trade Center site into a bright, glass-facade complex with four interior courtyards and a fifth public outdoor courtyard, featuring mini-cafes and enhanced daylight. The Seaport headquarters prioritizes in-person collaboration with a furniture layout that emphasizes common spaces over traditional cubicles and includes a robot aide to help navigate the building, according to a Globe report. Fidelity's move reshapes commuting expectations for hundreds of employees, shifting from a policy of roughly 10 days per month in the office to a model that requires weekly in-office presence.

Cathie Wood's ARK Invest to beat BlackRock, Fidelity in SEC tokenized fund race.

Cathie Wood's ARK Invest to beat BlackRock, Fidelity in SEC tokenized fund race. Cathie Wood's ARK Invest is becoming the clear frontrunner in the effort to launch the first tokenized investment funds in the U.S., according to reports. The update suggests that ARK Invest could outpace other competitors such as BlackRock and Fidelity if the Securities and Exchange Commission rolls out an innovation exemption that is linked to transfer agents. Cathie Wood's ARK Invest reportedly emerges as front-runner. In his X post, The Rollup podcast host Andy C revealed that he has received new information from his sources indicating that ARK Invest is making the first move towards tokenized funds. He wrote, "Things are moving quickly right now and we're rather confident in hearing that Cathie Wood's ARK Invest is going to be one of the first asset managers to go live with tokenized securities via a transfer agent as part of the SEC innovation exemption." The rollout is poised to start with Cathie Wood-backed ARK funds and then move on to more funds, he added. According to his post, "Fidelity, WisdomTree, and several others are likely as well." Discover more Compare Exchange Rates Choose Rewards Cards The upgrade is on top of his previous report which named ARK Invest, BlackRock and Fidelity as the companies expected to be more close to the SEC's approval process. At the time, he said these firms could tokenize the funds and let investors buy and sell the fund itself, as well as trade the underlying assets, onchain. UPDATE: Things are moving quickly right now and BitcoinEthereumNews is rather confident in hearing that Cathie Wood's ARKInvest is going to be one of the first asset managers to go live with tokenized securities via a transfer agent as part of the SEC innovation exemption. Starting with ARK... https://t.co/zVUzATPJPJ - Andy (@andyyy) September 8, 2026 He also reported the latest information was more solid than previous market rumors. The industry was now waiting to see if SEC Chief Paul Atkins would approve such a framework, Andy C added. SEC proposal puts transfer agents at center of tokenization. The reports around Cathie Wood-led ARK came out shortly after an SEC proposed rule change for transfer agents that was the largest since the early 1980s. Recordkeeping and tokenized securities are touched upon numerous times in the 421-page SEC proposal. Transfer agents keep secured shareholder records and conduct security transfers. The SEC stated that "market participants are creating 'blockchain-native' transfer agents to oversee tokenized funds, distributed ledger records and smart contract-driven operations. The proposal includes providing transfer agents with data for the number of securities that they will have on distributed ledgers as master shareholders. They would also distinguish between issuer-sponsored and third-party-sponsored tokenized securities in their regulatory filings. The SEC is also asking for comments on whether there should be a direct shareholder blockchain record keeping system. It is considering ways to potentially correlate wallet addresses and connect them to verified investors, while also keeping ownership records up-to-date following on-chain transfers. For further context, this proposal had been under development for over a decade, and was an invitation to comment on the implications for tokenization, Commissioner Hester Peirce said. The last review of transfer agent rules by the SEC was in the form of a concept release in 2015. For tokenized stock trading, visit its page on Best Platforms To Trade Tokenized Stocks.
