Stripe hires Drew Turchin to lead stablecoin cards business

Stripe has hired Drew Turchin as its new stablecoin cards executive, he announced on LinkedIn last week. Turchin previously led business development at Native Markets, which issued the USDH stablecoin, and held a similar role at Uniswap Labs. Stablecoin-linked card payments reached $1.5 billion in monthly volume in 2024, up from $250 million the previous year, according to a report from three crypto-focused firms posted on Stripe's website. Turchin will work with Stripe executives Henri Stern and Max Segall on the company's crypto strategy. Stripe acquired stablecoin platform Bridge for $1.1 billion in October 2024, marking a major move into the stablecoin space.

X moves US creator payouts from Stripe to X Money.

X moves US creator payouts from Stripe to X Money. By PYMNTS | September 2, 2026 Social platform X is moving U.S. creator payouts to its own payments service, X Money, as it expands the role of its financial products within the platform. Starting Wednesday (Sep. 2), all payouts to creators in the United States participating in X's Original Content Rewards Program or receiving subscription revenue will be processed through X Money, X said in a Wednesday post on the platform. Please add us to your preferred sources list so our news, data and interviews show up in your feed. Thanks! The move replaces Stripe, which previously powered creator payouts on X, TechCrunch reported Wednesday. An X representative said in the report that the change is required for U.S. creators. Creators outside the U.S. will continue receiving payouts through Stripe. Creators already using X Money do not need to take action, and their next payout will be sent through the service, X said in its post, which did not indicate another payment option for U.S. creators. The payments shift comes as X makes other changes to its creator programs, the TechCrunch report said. The company plans to retire its Creator Revenue Sharing Program on Sept. 7. Existing participants can continue earning through that date, while X has shifted its creator monetization efforts toward the Original Content Rewards Program, which places greater emphasis on original material. X Money began supporting creator payouts earlier this month as part of the company's broader push to expand its payments capabilities, according to the report. The service offers a bank card with 3% cash back, instant payments and free ATM withdrawals, among other digital banking features. X Money is not itself a bank; its accounts are held at FDIC-insured Cross River Bank. Creator payouts also will count toward X Money users' direct deposit requirements for the service's higher annual percentage yield, the report said. X Money's website lists a 6% rate for X Premium users, compared with 4% for standard users. In a comment on its original post, X said it will issue 1099-NEC forms to individuals receiving creator payouts. For creators operating as limited liability companies, X will collect W-9 information to help ensure tax forms are accurate.

Archive closes funding round led by Anti Fund and Florida Funders, with two major AI labs now using the platform

Archive, an AI-native creator marketing platform, has closed a strategic funding round led by Jake and Logan Paul's Anti Fund and Florida Funders. Battery Ventures, Stripe, Tiger Global, Lux Capital, and Human Capital also participated, alongside over 50 founders and executives. The company has secured two of the largest AI labs as clients, along with more than 1,000 brands including L'Oreal, DoorDash, and Pinterest. Archive recently closed two seven-figure enterprise deals with global consumer brands. Archive's platform combines social listening with end-to-end creator campaign management. Its AI processes tens of millions of videos daily across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, capturing tagged, untagged, and disappearing content. Co-founder Geoffrey Woo previously scaled Ketone-IQ past $40 million revenue using creator marketing. The platform addresses the growing $37 billion US creator advertising channel, which is expanding four times faster than the broader media market.

PayPal drops 15% as Stripe and Advent walk away from $50B bid, Affirm jumps 13% on record profits

PayPal shares plunged 15% after Stripe and Advent International withdrew from a proposed $50 billion acquisition. Bloomberg first reported Stripe's interest in February, and negotiations continued through August when PayPal deemed the initial bid insufficient. The deal's collapse eliminated the takeover premium that had driven PayPal's stock up over 40% this quarter. Meanwhile, Affirm surged 13% as investors reassessed the competitive landscape following the deal's abandonment. Klarna rose 5% whilst the Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF remained flat, indicating these are company-specific moves rather than sector-wide shifts. PayPal's market capitalisation now sits at roughly $52.59 billion, close to the withdrawn offer price. The company's underlying business remains solid, with second-quarter results showing non-GAAP earnings per share of $1.38 versus $1.28 expected and total payment volume of $486.45 billion, up 10%.

Fireblocks Flow enables seamless stablecoin payments for PSPs.

Fireblocks Flow enables seamless stablecoin payments for PSPs. August 28, 2026 Blockchain News general Positive Fireblocks has launched Fireblocks Flow, a purpose-built stablecoin payments solution designed to enable payment service providers, fintechs, and digital platforms to accept and process stablecoin transactions without overhauling existing checkout infrastructure. The product targets a critical pain point in crypto payment adoption - the costly and time-consuming need to rebuild payment rails from scratch - by offering seamless integration that sits on top of current systems. Fireblocks Flow stablecoin payments, stablecoin PSP integration, enterprise crypto payments infrastructure, and stablecoin checkout solutions are the keyword phrases driving search interest among fintech decision-makers and crypto payment operators evaluating this launch. The announcement arrives at a pivotal moment for stablecoin adoption, with global stablecoin transaction volumes surpassing traditional payment networks on several metrics in 2024 and regulatory frameworks such as the U.S. Genius Act and the EU's MiCA providing clearer legal ground for institutional stablecoin use. Fireblocks, which already secures and moves hundreds of billions of dollars in digital assets annually for over 1,800 institutional clients, is positioning Flow as the enterprise-grade bridge between traditional payment infrastructure and the stablecoin economy. By removing the technical barriers to stablecoin acceptance, Fireblocks is directly competing in a fast-growing space that includes players like Stripe, PayPal, and Checkout.com, all of which have made aggressive stablecoin payment moves recently. Watch for adoption announcements from major PSPs and potential expansion of Flow's supported stablecoin assets, including USDC, USDT, and emerging fiat-backed tokens, in the months ahead. Fireblocks Flow streamlines stablecoin payments for PSPs, fintechs, and platforms, eliminating the need for rebuilding checkout systems.
