Howatson+Company's Gabriella Dudman on the future of young creatives & Her 30 Under 30 win.

Howatson+Company's Gabriella Dudman on the future of young creatives & Her 30 Under 30 win. Published on: 19th October 2026 at 11:25 AM B&T's 30 Under 30 Awards, presented by Vevo, celebrate the next generation of talent shaping Australia's media, marketing and advertising industries. As we look ahead to 2027, we thought it was time to revisit the standout talent from the 2026 cohort. Through this series, we've been getting to know the people behind the accolades, exploring the career moments that have shaped them, what's driving their ambitions and the changes they'd like to see across the industry. Last week we spoke with 2026 Media Sales/Account Management winner, Will Mitchell. This week's instalment, B&T caught up with Howatson+Company's Gabriella Dudman, the 2026 Creative category winner, to chat about her journey so far, the ideas inspiring her work and what's to comes next. For Dudman, the path to becoming one of Howatson+Company's standout creatives has been shaped by a willingness to take on responsibility early and learn by doing. When she first interviewed for the agency, her portfolio and approach had already made an impression. It didn't take long for her to prove she could back that up, becoming the agency's youngest-ever senior designer at 24. Throuhgout her career, she's been tasked with developing brand guidelines where precision was paramount, delivering work that has gone on to earn a D&AD Pencil and a Cairns Crocodiles Award. The wins are significant moment in her career, building her confidence and cementing her reputation as a rising talent not only at Howatson+Company but in the industry. Her recognition as the winner of the Creative category at B&T's 30 Under 30 Awards adds another milestone to that journey. B&T: After winning a 30 Under 30 Award where do you see yourself in 3, 13 and 30 years' time? Gabriella Dudman: 3 years: In three years I hope to have worked on some international projects, ideally something that has taken me somewhere I haven't been and feel more confident in my position to lead and guide with more experience under my belt. 13 years: By 2039, I hope to have established myself as a creative known for my passion for art-centered projects. I want to be the person who can still jump in and get their hands dirty on a project I'm art directing or gets to know the gritty, intimate details of the company I'm rebranding. Most of all I hope I'm still painting and taking photos of silly little moments, and my curiosity lives on. 30 years: If you ask me in three decades' time if I'm where I thought I'd be when I was 26, I honestly hope I say no. I hope to have had a career and life that at times felt unexpected and exciting. The thing that appealed to me most about the career path I have taken is that it didn't follow a linear path. At the very least, I hope I can say I'm proud of the people I have impacted around me and brought a bit of joy and colour to the world. B&T: Why did you choose to enter the Awards? GD: I chose to enter as an exercise of personal reflection. Most, if not all, creatives I encounter fall victim to imposter syndrome, and I think it's important at times to take a step back and see your work through the lens of other people; it often adds up to more than what we give ourselves credit for. Vouching for yourself, even if it's just listing your achievements big and small, counts for something regardless of the result. B&T: What would you do differently if you were to enter the Awards again? GD: On a practical level, keep it short and precise. I had to cut a lot out of my submission because I spoke for too long! On a more conceptual level, I wouldn't have wasted so much time trying to find a creative idea that I thought fit the taste of other people; once I realised the best submission will be one that feels the truest and most genuine to my taste, it all came together much easier. B&T: What's one issue the industry should be spending more time on and why? GD: Right now, I think it's building confidence in juniors and those entering the industry that there is hope in such an uncertain landscape around AI. It often feels like, as someone young in the industry, that we have stepped into the burning building while everyone in it has already made it out the other side. This industry, and many others all through history, has always found new ways of working to preserve what makes it special and foster those in it, I would like to believe that this time is no different, but when you are stepping into it for the first time, you don't know that from experience. Spotify adds videos of archive and 2026 MTV VMAs performances.

Spotify adds videos of archive and 2026 MTV VMAs performances. MTV's Video Music Awards (VMAs) is done for another year, with 2026's big moments including a Madonna / Sabrina Carpenter / Charli XCX medley-collab; a Dolly Parton tribute from Kacey Musgraves; and Taylor Swift debuting a new music video. Some of these moments may be popping up on Spotify in video form soon. On the eve of the awards this weekend, the streaming service announced a deal with Paramount to be the event's "official music and video partner". That involves Spotify launching a dedicated VMAs hub on its service which will house "decades of iconic performances alongside content around this year's nominees and select performances from the 2026 VMAs". It's the latest evolution for Paramount's strategy around the VMAs. A decade ago, Music Ally Ltd. reported on MTV posting videos of performances from that year's event on YouTube, Facebook and other platforms via a deal with Vevo. In terms of music, MTV itself is a far cry from its heyday as the queen of music videos. However, its awards remain a key fixture in the annual music calendar, and it will hope Spotify can boost its reach for fans who don't watch the full awards on TV.

Rockbot bring Vevo to commercial venues across the US. July 28, 2026 Vevo, the music video network, and Rockbot, a specialist in digital media solutions for brick-and-mortar businesses, have announced a partnership to bring Vevo's programming to commercial venues across the US. Through the partnership, Rockbot will be the first platform to offer Vevo music videos curated for business environments, giving restaurants, bars, fitness centres, retail stores, hospitality venues and other businesses access to ad-free music video programming. The offering will introduce six music video channels at launch - Rock, Hip-Hop, and Dance set the mode with some of the most influential artists and groundbreaking tracks from those core musical genres, while Day, Night and Late Night are dayparted and uniquely programmed to reflect the customer journey throughout the day. Additional programming opportunities will follow. This marks Vevo's expansion into the out-of-home streaming category, extending the reach of its content beyond traditional connected TV, mobile and desktop, into the places consumers visit every day. "Music videos have always been one of the most powerful intersections of music, culture and visual storytelling, making them uniquely suited for out-of-home environments where people gather and share experiences," commented Natalie Gabathuler-Scully, EVP, Revenue, Distribution, & Data Operations at Vevo. "As consumers increasingly co-view content together on larger screens, music videos offer businesses a compelling way to connect with audiences through the artists, moments and conversations shaping pop culture. Through our partnership with Rockbot, we're creating entirely new opportunities for audiences to discover and engage with music video content in these environments, while giving businesses access to premium programming that helps enhance the customer experience and create more engaging, memorable spaces." Rockbot powers entertainment and media experiences for more than 50,000 business locations across the USS, serving brands across retail, restaurants, fitness, hospitality and entertainment - from Best Buy and Planet Fitness to Shake Shack, Lucky Strike, Great Wolf Lodge and more. "Businesses have different needs than consumers when it comes to television and streaming, and Rockbot solves that," added Garrett Dodge, CEO and co-founder of Rockbot. "The right experience for a business - one that reflects their brand, offers commercial-free, fully-licensed programming, and can be centrally managed - is key. Now, bringing music videos to our customers takes our business one step further. Our exclusive partnership with Vevo changes the game, combining one of the world's most iconic music video brands with a platform purpose-built for business. Companies can now deliver premium music video programming that matches the energy of the moment and can be managed across one location or thousands. It's how Rockbot TV is reinventing television for business." Vevo content will be available through Rockbot as curated, linear streaming channels and as part of broader programming bundles alongside content from other media providers. Businesses will be able to manage programming, scheduling, and content delivery through Rockbot's centralised dashboard, allowing businesses to control entertainment experiences across one or multiple locations from a single interface.

Vevo names DISQO as preferred brand outcomes measurement partner in the U.S.

Vevo names DISQO as preferred brand outcomes measurement partner in the U.S. * 17 hours ago Partnership strengthens Vevo's ability to measure holistic, cross-platform brand impact and consumer behavior across CTV, mobile and desktop DISQO's deterministic measurement approach gives advertisers deeper insight into how Vevo drives outcomes beyond awareness NEW YORK, NY, May 20, 2026 - Vevo, the world's leading music video network, today announced an expanded partnership with DISQO, naming the advertising intelligence provider its preferred brand lift and outcomes partner in the U.S. The designation marks a significant evolution in the companies' collaboration and reflects a shared commitment to advancing measurement in an increasingly fragmented media landscape. Now, Vevo is deepening its use of DISQO's full-funnel, deterministic intelligence to capture the full impact of its premium music video network across connected TV, mobile and desktop. DISQO's solutions help bridge the gap between Vevo's high-impact media and consumer response, validating custom audience segments and demonstrating the incremental lift of premium sponsorships at scale. Together, the companies give advertisers a clearer view into how culturally relevant content drives engagement and conversion across the funnel. "As marketers look for greater clarity across an increasingly complex media landscape, our partnership with DISQO allows us to go deeper than traditional brand lift with out-of-the-box solutions," said Laura Vanison, VP, Research & Measurement at Vevo. "By connecting exposure on Vevo to real consumer behaviors like search, site visitation and purchase signals, we're giving our advertisers a more complete picture of how premium music video drives impact across the funnel. More importantly, our work with DISQO marks a shift from reactive reporting to proactive strategy - turning deep-funnel data into a competitive advantage for clients." Building on its role as an early beta partner for DISQO's Outcomes Lift solution, Vevo has expanded measurement beyond topline signals like search and site visitation to uncover deeper insights into messaging impact, seasonality, conversion windows and purchase intent. A holiday smartphone campaign, for example, drove measurable lifts in Add-to-Cart conversions, while a beauty campaign leveraging Vevo's Artist Franchise and Vevo Evolve Advanced Audiences translated strong upper-funnel engagement into meaningful lower-funnel action, including lifts in Store Locator page visits. Based on these learnings and recommendations, both brands expanded their partnerships with Vevo in 2026. Today, Vevo continues to tap into DISQO's growing suite of solutions to better support a broader range of campaign objectives and client needs. "The next generation of advertising intelligence requires trusted data connected to real people, real journeys, and real outcomes," said Armen Adjemian, Founder and CEO, DISQO. "With Vevo, we are delivering exactly that, connecting ad exposure to consumer attitudes and behaviors across every stage of the journey to capture the full behavioral impact of their premium content. DISQO is proud to be named Vevo's preferred measurement partner and to provide the clarity that moves brands from directional signals to actionable proof of outcomes."
