Requirements
  • Completion of a college- or hospital-based vascular or diagnostic medical sonography program, or an Allied Health program approved by the American Medical Association.
  • Registration as a sonographer with 10 or more years of experience and at least one Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer subspecialty.
  • Ability to perform basic ultrasound and vascular examinations and advanced examinations including abdominal, obstetric, vascular, cardiac, interventional, and transplant studies.
Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostic medical sonography services and clinically relevant information to assist physicians with diagnosis and treatment.
  • Perform routine STAT two-dimensional echocardiograms, M-mode studies, and cardiac Doppler studies under direct supervision.
  • Perform adult two-dimensional echocardiograms, M-mode, pulsed-wave and continuous-wave Doppler, color and spectral Doppler, and transesophageal echocardiograms, with some exposure to pediatric patients.
  • Perform stress echocardiograms and dobutamine stress echocardiograms.
  • Cover various sites within the Munson Healthcare Cardiovascular Service line.
  • Teach procedures to designated staff and mentor and educate other technologists.
  • Participate in a weekend call rotation and work a variable schedule of up to 40 hours per week.
