Ancient classics might return on the PS6.

Ancient classics might return on the PS6. 4 hours ago - mirok Liked by 0 people The recent trend of major platform holders outsourcing their beloved intellectual properties to third-party studios finally seems to be yielding interesting results, revealing a welcome strategic shift from Sony after years of risky and excessive focus on high-budget, grandiose productions, which ended up stifling the PlayStation's release schedule. Fresh insights from behind the scenes indicate that Sony has decided to adopt a strategy quite similar to the one Konami has recently employed with franchises like Castlevania and Silent Hill, allowing external teams led by centralized creative oversight to breathe new life into names that seemed doomed to eternal neglect in corporate drawers. Among the most talked-about moves by industry insiders is the rumored partnership between Sony and People Can Fly to develop a new title for the acclaimed Killzone franchise, with the technical and creative support of Guerrilla Games itself, while another external studio is reportedly tasked with bringing the charismatic Ape Escape out of storage, showing there's hope for those who miss the classic variety of the old days.

Rescue Drone Simulator: Second Chance announced by The Farm 51 and Anraga Studios.

Rescue Drone Simulator: Second Chance announced by The Farm 51 and Anraga Studios. Last updated: September 18, 2026 9:57 pm Anraga Studios and developer The Farm 51 have announced Rescue Drone Simulator: Second Chance, a story-driven rescue action simulator set in the near future in which the drone is the player's primary tool. Across the campaign, players are sent wherever a situation spirals out of control, from fires and explosions to natural disasters, infrastructure failures, missing persons cases, and extreme weather events, and must assess the threat, choose the right machine, and carry out the operation under time pressure. Release Window: Rescue Drone Simulator: Second Chance is set to debut in Q1 2027 on PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with Anraga Studios planning a simultaneous release across all three platforms. When a person can't go in, you send a drone. The drone in Rescue Drone Simulator: Second Chance is built as a physical machine rather than a flying camera. Mass, inertia, thrust, aerodynamics, battery life, damage, and weather conditions all affect how it behaves: wind can push it off course, extra weight changes how it responds to controls, and a configuration prepared in advance in the workshop can matter during an operation. The game offers two control models: Simulator, which aims for an experience closer to real drone piloting, and Arcade, which adds assistance so players without drone experience can jump in. Four drones, four ways to save a life. * Rescue Drone: Tracks the cell signals of missing civilians, drops medical kits, and marks targets from the air. * Firefighting Drone: Puts out fires with a powder extinguisher operated from a safe distance or water balloons dropped from height, clearing the way for the rest of the team. * Police Drone: Issues voice commands through a megaphone and uses smoke grenades and a taser to keep situations under control without putting people at risk. * Interceptor Drone: Intercepts and neutralizes hostile drones with a net launcher, securing the airspace above the operation zone. Workshop and campaign. Between operations, players can fully customize their fleet in the workshop, with motors, propellers, batteries, arms, wiring, and cooling systems each having a real effect on a drone's speed, thrust, flight time, and durability. The story-driven campaign is split into four acts and 20 missions played across 5 maps, each available in different weather variants, with locations ranging from forest trails and the coast to city centers and industrial districts. The developers estimate the campaign takes about 10 to 15 hours to complete. The game supports both controller and keyboard-and-mouse input, with first- and third-person views and on-screen speed and wind indicators. Second Chance, for the rescued and the rescuers. The title's "Second Chance" refers to more than the people rescued during missions. The in-game rescue unit is made up of experienced specialists who, due to accidents, illness, age, or trauma, can no longer do their former jobs in the traditional way; drone technology lets them keep using their knowledge and instincts to save others from a safe distance. "Rescue Drone Simulator gives us the chance to collide very modern drone technology with the aesthetics and musical sensibility I grew up with in the '80s and '90s," said Wojciech Pazdur, CEO and co-founder of The Farm 51, who leads art direction on the game and composes its music. Pazdur previously worked at People Can Fly and co-created Painkiller. "We want to create a believable near future with an analog soul, something more physical, industrial, and human." The game's story is written by Artur Fojcik, Game Director at The Farm 51, known for his work on Chernobylite and the BAFTA Games Award-nominated Get Even. "A disaster becomes more than a spectacle once the player understands who they're trying to save and who's helping them on the other end of the radio," Fojcik said. "Second Chance is the shared theme of these characters. Each of them has lost something important, and each is trying to find a new role for themselves." "In our story, technology doesn't replace people. It lets them make use again of experience and skills that, for various reasons, seemed already lost," said Radoslaw Kalisz, CEO of Anraga Studios. "We want to combine spectacular disasters and the pressure of rescue operations with the satisfaction of mastering a drone and a very human story."
