Manhattan Associates unveils Sightline to explain AI-driven supply chain forecasts in plain language

Manhattan Associates has unveiled Sightline, a new capability within its ActivePlanning software that explains AI-driven supply chain decisions in plain business language. The tool reveals the reasoning behind forecasts, recommendations and inventory decisions, from individual order lines to entire networks. Sightline provides real-time, in-application analysis of factors including forecast inputs, safety stock decisions, vendor minimums, lead times and promotional effects. This eliminates the need for planners to use external tools like Microsoft Excel to understand planning logic, turning hours of investigation into seconds. The capability introduces configurable views tailored to how planners work, whether by role, promotion or activity. Manhattan Associates says Sightline addresses the "black box" problem of advanced AI forecasting, giving practitioners immediate visibility into why the system makes specific decisions.

Manhattan Associates launches AI-powered Solution Design Studio to configure supply chain systems in minutes

Manhattan Associates has launched Solution Design Studio, an AI-powered workspace that enables business users to configure complex supply chain systems using natural language. The tool is part of the company's ActivePlatform and represents the next phase of its Agentic AI strategy. Solution Design Studio allows users to create "blueprints" — business-language descriptions of warehouse or transportation operations — which the platform then translates into live configurations. The system is designed for business users like warehouse operations leaders rather than developers, with the blueprint serving as the system of record. During testing, the studio successfully configured the majority of ActiveWarehouse using externally created designs, reducing tasks that previously took months to minutes. The solution is currently being used by Manhattan's services teams, with broader customer rollout planned for coming quarters.
