About the job
- Two years of previous operating room technician or central supply technician experience, including appropriate certification.
- Previous surgical instrumentation and equipment decontamination and sterilization experience, with familiarity with various instrument sterilization methods.
- A high school diploma or GED.
- CSP certification, specifically CRCST or CBSPD certification.
- Certification must be maintained.
- The ability to take independent action and establish and maintain outstanding working relationships.
- Wash, inspect, package, and sterilize instruments and equipment.
- Maintain accurate monitoring records.
- Use and interpret chemical and biological indicators.
- Clean all sterilization equipment appropriately.
- Assist operating room personnel in locating and reprocessing instruments.
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
- Follow established policies and procedures.
- Communicate with internal customers and supervisors.
- Provide customer service while interfacing with staff, management, and physicians.
