About the Company

Cineplex

Cinema operator, amusement venues, and media

Cineplex operates in three connected areas in Canada: film entertainment and content (its cinemas), amusement and leisure (venues like The Rec Room, Cineplex Junxion, and Playdium), and media (digital products such as Cineplex.com, the Cineplex mobile app, and the Cineplex Store). It runs cinemas, interactive entertainment venues, and digital platforms for tickets and content, with Scene+ as a loyalty program that links purchases across its businesses. Compared with competitors, it combines movies, experiential venues, and digital services under one umbrella, using the loyalty program to encourage cross-channel engagement. Its goal is to grow revenue and resiliency by expanding its amusement and leisure offerings and digital products while continuing to support its film entertainment business and adapting to changing consumer preferences and streaming trends.
