About the Job

Requirements

  • Expert hands-on experience in Adobe Campaign Classic (ACC), including v7/v8 architecture and implementation; mid-sourcing, FFDA/Snowflake on v8, and Federated Data Access; campaign data models and XML schema extensions; workflows and technical workflows; targeting and enrichment; deliveries, templates, personalization, typologies, and rules; transactional messaging (Message Center) and Triggers where applicable; tracking and delivery data; JSSP, web applications, SOAP APIs, packages, and external accounts; customizations and integrations.
  • Experience with Adobe Campaign Standard (ACS) campaign and workflow design, audiences, deliveries, templates, personalization, channel configuration, data resources, imports/exports, APIs, and consent and subscription practices, including assessing ACS implementations and translating requirements to AEP/AJO design.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), including XDM modeling, schemas, datasets, identity namespaces and identity resolution, Real-Time Customer Profile concepts, batch and streaming ingestion, sources and destinations, segmentation, Query Service/data transformation, governance and consent considerations, sandboxes, and environment strategy.
  • Experience with Adobe Journey Optimizer (AJO) journey and campaign design, including action, API-triggered, and orchestrated patterns; unitary, business, and audience-based patterns; and journey activities and conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery workshops with marketing, campaign operations, data, architecture, security, mobile, and IT stakeholders.
  • Inventory the Campaign estate, including use cases; assets; data; and infrastructure, hosting, network access, file transfer, and decommissioning needs.
  • Reverse-engineer custom logic and document business rules across technical and marketing workflows, custom code, APIs, databases, custom structures, web applications, integrations, and related Campaign capabilities.
  • Map use cases and dependencies to AJO/AEP target patterns and classify them as reuse, redesign, rebuild, integrate, defer, or retain; determine how custom logic should be handled.
  • Select the AJO execution path per use case based on customer experience, distinguishing Journeys, Orchestrated Campaigns, and action campaigns; document rationale, combined patterns, and license prerequisites.
  • Identify product-fit gaps and operational impacts, advise on Campaign coexistence or other migration paths, and set realistic customer expectations.
  • Develop phased roadmaps, effort estimates, dependency plans, risks, and customer decision points.
  • Design the AEP foundation, including XDM schemas and field groups; identity namespaces and resolution; datasets, sources, destinations, ingestion, and events; data quality and governance; audience qualification and segmentation; and Query Service or other processing.
  • Replace Campaign data patterns with AEP capabilities such as Federated Audience Composition, computed attributes, Data Distiller, merge policies, and profile and segmentation guardrails.
  • Design customer experiences and build AJO journeys and campaigns for batch and event-driven engagement, including orchestration, content, personalization, and decisioning.
  • Apply journey and campaign governance and optimization, including business rules, frequency capping, quiet hours, journey priority and arbitration, conflict management, wave sending, experimentation, and decisioning policies and rankings.
  • Define security, access, permissions, governance, and operational controls.
  • Configure AJO channels end to end, including channel settings, credentials, feedback webhooks, mobile app and SDK dependencies, data and consent needs, and template approval rules.
  • Connect native and customer-provided messaging providers; configure provider payloads, inbound keywords, delivery receipts, opt-in/opt-out flows, and custom channels, including endpoints, authentication, throttling, payloads, and monitoring.
  • Design and build integrations using APIs, source connectors, file exchange, middleware, or Adobe solution integrations, including custom actions and their schemas, authentication, capping, throttling, retries, and error handling.
  • Implement event- and API-triggered patterns, including unitary and business events, transactional campaigns, Journey and Campaign APIs, and streaming ingestion via HTTP API.
  • Select and configure journey entry patterns for each use case, and configure identity namespaces, reentrance, wait periods, exit criteria, and time zones.
  • Build multi-step journeys using wait, optimization, reaction events, profile updates, content decisioning, external data sources, custom actions, and reusable journeys.
  • Use supplemental identifiers to support entity-level journey instances and personalization, and determine when use cases suit journeys versus orchestrated campaigns.
  • Support phased migration and coexistence from journey canvases, including Campaign actions where transactional messaging remains in Campaign.
  • Design within journey guardrails and flag product gaps early.
  • Design relational data models for Orchestrated Campaigns, including schemas, keys, version descriptors, enums, governance labels, identity fields, and relationship cardinality.
  • Configure target dimensions linking profile and event data to relational data, and decide what belongs in profile versus relational storage.
  • Set up Change Data Capture ingestion from supported sources, including file-based change fields, warehouse table logging, complete-record loads, deletion handling, and latency planning.
  • Build multi-step campaign canvases with targeting, flow control, channel activities, multi-entity segmentation, multi-level sending, scheduling, recurring runs, and pre-send count validation.
  • Design within orchestrated campaign guardrails and flag gaps early.
  • Translate ACC/ACS relational data models to AEP schemas, defining identities, relationships, cardinality, and denormalization trade-offs.
  • Migrate historical and operational data using backfills, delta loads, and reconciliation reports; map consent and subscription data; and load quarantined and bounced addresses into AJO suppression lists.
  • Rebuild Campaign workflow logic for the chosen target path using AEP audiences, journey activities, orchestrated-campaign canvas activities, Query Service, Data Distiller, source dataflows, or external services as appropriate.
  • Re-architect lifecycle programs as journeys, replacing workflow-based state tracking with journey state, reentrance rules, and exit criteria.
  • Convert Campaign content, templates, and personalization to AJO content templates and Handlebars/PQL, and validate output with seed and test profiles.
  • Map transactional and signal-driven flows to AJO journeys or campaigns, and translate typology, pressure, and fatigue rules into AJO business rules, frequency capping, suppression, and quiet hours.
  • Migrate ACC Interaction offer logic to AJO Decisioning and confirm licensing for Decisioning or legacy Offer Decisioning.
  • Rebuild Campaign landing pages, subscription and preference centers, web and survey forms, web applications, and JSSP pages using AJO capabilities or customer-owned web front ends connected through AEP APIs.
  • Establish development, test/stage, and production delivery practices with Git version control and a sandbox strategy; support controlled promotion and release management with sandbox tooling, journey versioning, simulation, and dry-run checks.
  • Build requirements-traceable test strategies covering data and identity, audience counts, journey logic, personalization, rendering, APIs, consent, suppression, channel delivery, and reporting.
  • Design dual-run and cutover plans, synchronizing and reconciling consent, opt-outs, quarantine, bounces, profile data, and engagement history as needed.
  • Plan deliverability readiness and email-domain migration, including domain authentication, unsubscribe requirements, bulk-sender requirements, IP strategy, ramp-up, suppression, consent handling, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Rebuild Campaign reporting and tracking using AJO reports, Customer Journey Analytics where licensed, and Query Service on system datasets; agree on report, KPI, and tracking-log equivalents.
  • Define measurable launch and migration acceptance criteria; support business validation, production readiness, go-live, stabilization, and continuous improvement.
  • Hand over implementation documentation, architecture diagrams, reproducible data mapping specifications, runbooks, testing evidence, and operational and support materials; coach customer teams on the AJO operating model, AEP concepts, changed workflows, responsibilities, and adoption needs.
