Requirements
  • Two to three years of teaching experience in a public high school, charter school, or similar setting.
  • Knowledge and experience teaching Regents courses.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from an accredited college or university.
  • A valid New York State Certification for grades 7-12.
Responsibilities
  • Teach a standards-based curriculum that culminates in the Regents exam.
  • Develop lesson plans and supplementary materials.
  • Teach mathematical content and skills.
  • Incorporate technology into instruction on an ongoing basis.
  • Provide interactive and meaningful learning materials, maintain a positive learning environment that encourages active student participation, assign homework, and conduct periodic assessments to measure student growth and progress.
  • Deliver quality instruction and progressively require higher-order thinking activities from students.
  • Design a challenging curriculum and support students' overall language development.
  • Prepare assignments and create innovative teaching methods suited to students' varying learning styles.
  • Implement effective classroom management skills to build a positive classroom culture.
  • Participate actively in professional development and collaborate with colleagues and instructional leaders to improve instructional practices and student learning.
  • Build meaningful and professional relationships with students and their families.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by school leadership.
