Requirements
  • One to three years of experience working with a health and welfare carrier, broker, employee benefits administrator, or in a human resources or benefits role.
  • A state-specific resident Life and Health license is required.
  • Ability to model financial implications from benefit programs.
  • Comfort negotiating with insurance carriers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to identify problems and create effective solutions.
  • Ability to establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and tasks, meet deadlines, and remain composed under pressure.
  • Basic understanding of general business and financial concepts.
  • Ability to create, organize, and manage a project plan.
  • Basic understanding of strategy and long-term planning.
Responsibilities
  • Manage client life-cycle deliverables with oversight from the Benefit Consultant and Team Lead to support retention of an assigned book of business.
  • Complete client-related deliverables of increasing complexity with guidance and supervision.
  • Complete training and professional development covering industry knowledge, product knowledge, regulatory compliance, strategic account planning, communication, and project management.
  • Maintain current client files and internal systems according to organizational protocols and data standards.
  • Execute day-to-day service deliverables throughout client onboarding, ongoing support, and renewal for all coverage lines and products.
  • Support the Team Lead in understanding client goals and developing multi-year strategic plans.
  • Define annual service-delivery calendars supporting multi-year strategic plans.
  • Prepare client deliverables using team expertise, available tools, established standards, and work products to manage expectations and deliver materials on time.
  • Communicate and present findings, analysis, and recommendations in meetings, calls, and emails, including setting agendas and completing follow-up.
  • Prepare standard and ad hoc reports and other client-related projects as needed.
  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain client and vendor relationships.
  • Review employee education and communication materials, including benefit guides, during periods such as open enrollment.
  • Research, respond to, and resolve client inquiries and service-related issues, involving more experienced team members when necessary.
  • Maintain BenefitPoint, Oracle, and client files according to data standards and filing requirements.
  • Manage contact information for client stakeholders for Client Satisfaction and Thought Leadership purposes.
  • Work with the Team Lead and Producer to create, review, update, and manage the Internal Account Plan.
  • Interact with carriers and vendors on behalf of clients and the team.
  • Identify and leverage resources for upsell opportunities.
  • Reconcile client revenue monthly between BenefitPoint and Finance Accrued Revenue.
  • Develop new and creative benefit solutions with guidance.
