The Council on Recovery announces expanded addiction counseling services.

The Council on Recovery announces expanded addiction counseling services. October 21, 2026 HOUSTON, TX - October 21, 2026 - The Council on Recovery has announced an expansion of addiction counseling in Houston, introducing additional counseling resources and mental health support for individuals and families affected by substance use disorders. The initiative is intended to address the need for accessible behavioral health services while strengthening the organization's existing treatment and community education programs. The expanded services incorporate several therapeutic approaches, including cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and family systems therapy. These methods are intended to address different aspects of substance use disorders, including behavioral patterns, personal circumstances, and family relationships that may influence treatment needs. A central component of the announcement is the integration of mental health support into existing addiction counseling programs. The Council on Recovery recognizes that substance use disorders can occur alongside mental health conditions, creating additional considerations for assessment, treatment planning, and ongoing support. The organization stated that the expanded approach will allow counseling professionals to consider both substance use and related behavioral health concerns when developing individualized treatment plans. Services are structured to accommodate varying circumstances, including differences in substance use history, family involvement, and mental health needs. The announcement also includes updates to the organization's digital education resources. The Council on Recovery has expanded its online materials to provide additional information about substance use disorders, prevention strategies, treatment options, and recovery-related topics. These resources are intended to help individuals and families better understand addiction and the types of professional support available. The organization's online resource center includes educational articles and information addressing common concerns associated with substance use and behavioral health. Beyond its counseling programs, The Council on Recovery continues to participate in community outreach efforts involving local organizations and healthcare providers. These activities focus on improving public understanding of substance use disorders, encouraging informed discussions about treatment, and addressing barriers that may prevent individuals from seeking professional assistance. The expansion reflects a broader emphasis within behavioral healthcare on addressing substance use and mental health concerns through coordinated services. Treatment planning may involve multiple areas of support, depending on an individual's circumstances and the professional assessments conducted. The Council on Recovery has served individuals and families affected by substance use disorders for decades. Its work includes counseling, educational initiatives, and community-based efforts related to addiction prevention and recovery. The recently announced changes represent a development in the organization's approach to addiction counseling in Houston, with additional attention directed toward mental health considerations, family involvement, and public access to educational information. Implementation details, including program availability, eligibility requirements, and scheduling information, can be obtained directly from the organization. The Council on Recovery will continue providing information about its counseling programs and related resources as the expanded services are introduced.
