Requirements
  • A minimum of a master's degree in a specific degree for the position being recruited or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a specifically related field.
  • A minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience, or the equivalent as an adjunct instructor.
  • An equivalent or applicable combination of education and experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and teaching experience equating to two years.
  • A strong background in computers and technology, organizational skills, general office skills, communication and interpersonal skills, willingness to learn, ability to research and effectively analyze data, and ability to work independently toward established goals and deadlines.
  • Commitment to working effectively with students, employees, and community members of all backgrounds.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of a background check and, when applicable, a motor vehicle records report.
  • Adherence to Colorado Mountain College safety and compliance policies.
  • Ability to meet the physical and communication requirements of the position, including computer and standard office equipment use.
Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned courses.
  • Evaluate courses and assess student learning.
  • Meet established course, program, and learning outcomes.
  • Comply with applicable guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain office hours according to established standards.
  • Develop rapport with students and assist with advising, orientation, and registration activities.
  • Engage in scholarly and creative activities that enhance discipline expertise and learning.
  • Participate in campus and college committees, relevant projects, peer mentoring, assessment activities, program review, student organizations, and recruiting and retention activities.
  • Prepare lesson plans for each course in accordance with approved course objectives.
  • Develop and submit course outlines and syllabi to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Assist with developing measurable course objectives and plans.
  • Develop professional relationships with students and staff that encourage teacher-student communication.
  • Maintain accurate student course records and complete required course forms.
  • Be available for student consultation.
  • Assist in student recruitment as appropriate.
  • Assist in evaluating curriculum and instructional performance when agreed upon and appropriate.
  • Represent the college professionally throughout the communities and college district.
  • Engage in professional development as required for credentialing.
  • Adhere to assigned duties, safety requirements, and college policies.
Desired Qualifications
