About the job

Requirements
  • At least 4 years of experience building and owning client-facing production applications where reliability, performance, and conversion matter.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one core technology—TypeScript/React, Ruby/Rails, or Node.js—and willingness to work across the stack.
  • A product-oriented approach, with attention to whether the code solves the right problem.
  • Comfort working across the full lifecycle: framing, building, testing, deploying, monitoring, and iterating, supported by testing discipline.
  • Proficiency with relational databases; PostgreSQL is preferred within this requirement.
  • Clear written and spoken English.
Responsibilities
  • Build and evolve core claiming flows across the frontend and backend through production.
  • Work with Product, Design, and Data to identify friction, frame problems, and deliver measurable improvements.
  • Design and run experiments that increase submission rates and reduce confusion, and make experimentation easier and safer for the team.
  • Integrate claiming flows with documents, communications, claim processing, partner APIs, and internal tooling.
  • Modernize legacy parts of the journey so the team can move faster with less risk.
  • Improve reliability and observability of the flows and catch and fix issues before they affect travellers' claims.
  • Maintain engineering quality through reviews, testing, and pragmatic technical decisions.
  • Use AI-assisted workflows when they genuinely improve speed or quality.
Desired Qualifications
  • PostgreSQL experience.
