About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of technical program management experience at a high-growth technology company.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive large, ambiguous, cross-functional programs to completion with minimal direction.
  • Engineering credibility earned through hands-on experience with technically complex domains such as observability, infrastructure, data platforms, or AI/ML systems, including model training pipelines, ML infrastructure, and GPU compute; ability to go deep on architecture and system design, challenge technical decisions, and engage credibly with staff engineers and senior individual contributors.
  • Track record of earning trust with senior engineering and product leadership through sound judgment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort owning the narrative at VP+ levels.
  • Active use of AI tools in daily work and ability to demonstrate how they have changed the candidate’s leverage.
  • Experience building a tool, template, or automated workflow that other people use.

Responsibilities

  • Own large cross-functional programs spanning multiple engineering organizations, product, and business functions.
  • Proactively surface systemic risks, cross-pod dependencies, and organizational friction before they become escalations.
  • Build and maintain SVP-level visibility through tracked KPIs on the company’s highest-priority initiatives.
  • Use technical credibility, trusted relationships, and product domain expertise to bridge gaps between functions where misalignment is costly.
  • Identify repeatable program archetypes and engineer their lifecycles end-to-end with AI solutions so programs can run themselves.
  • Build automation that reduces coordination and program overhead, allowing engineers and product managers to focus on work requiring human judgment.
  • Contribute to the TPM toolkit, including AI-powered risk synthesis, dependency tracking, stakeholder mapping, and program templates.
  • Drive the shift from manual coordination to self-executing program infrastructure.
  • Lead deep technical, large cross-functional, product delivery, and operational programs.
  • Accelerate alignment by removing friction and overhead rather than adding process.
  • Use judgment to decide when to escalate, when to slow down, and when a technical decision has organizational implications.
  • Own outcomes, measuring value by what ships and what is prevented from becoming a problem.

Desired Qualifications

  • Identified a systemic problem without being asked and built an operating system to solve it.
  • Automated a program lifecycle or workflow that previously required manual coordination.
  • Operated in observability, infrastructure, data platforms, or AI/ML environments and can discuss the technical architecture, not just program execution.
  • Managed programs with real unit economics implications, such as cloud cost, capacity, or margin.

About the Company

Datadog

Builds monitoring and security tools for clouds

Datadog builds monitoring and security software for developers and operations teams that run cloud applications, giving them a shared view of system health and performance. Its platform links infrastructure monitoring with application performance and log analysis so teams trace a problem across the systems involved. Software agents and integrations collect operational data, which teams explore through dashboards and alerts to find failures, investigate threats and improve the customer experience. The company sells subscriptions to individual products and combined plans, with charges tied to the resources and data monitored. Datadog was founded in 2010 and is headquartered in New York City.
