About the Job

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary third-level technical contact and key knowledge resource for Wazuh SIEM, PostgreSQL, S3 MinIO object storage, DNS infrastructure, remote platform access and bastion systems, Linux operating systems (SuSE, RHEL, Ubuntu), NSX-T networking and firewalling, and SuSE Manager.
  • Perform deep root-cause analyses, including multi-system debugging.
  • Handle cross-team, business-critical incidents requiring broad platform knowledge.
  • Manage end-to-end capacity for FCI and Kubernetes clusters, continuously assessing resource utilization, trends, and scaling requirements.
  • Drive improvements in platform stability and deployment reliability, optimize operational models and CI/CD processes, and ensure smooth transitions from project delivery to stable operations.
  • Prepare, design, and execute proofs of concept for Ansible/AWX automated deployments and configuration management, and Oracle-related integration and migration scenarios.
  • Develop automation strategies and reusable modules and deployment templates, and define technical standards for automated operations.
  • Design, review, and explain technical audit controls to internal and external auditors, and coordinate audit activities for platform and application topics.
  • Embed security controls into automated deployment workflows and create and maintain compliance policies and technical guardrails.
  • Design, maintain, and operate the Wazuh security platform; develop use cases, alerts, dashboards, and security incident processes; and troubleshoot performance, agent behavior, and scalability.
  • Coordinate work packages across AO teams, development teams, and infrastructure units; work with software teams to onboard applications onto the platform; support service portfolio development and presales activities; and share best practices and mentor engineers on platform processes and tools.
  • Execute proofs of concept and evaluate platform components; define integration strategies aligned with architecture standards; create reference architectures, deployment blueprints, and operational concepts; and evaluate solutions for scalability, resilience, security, and cost efficiency.
  • For the Icinga replacement project, coordinate work and dependencies with classic AO teams; support deployment and configuration of exporters and agents on legacy virtual machines; standardize client-side configurations and data mappings; implement standardized observability dashboards; define monitoring and alerting; and troubleshoot missing or incomplete metrics, high scrape latency, time-series cardinality, and Kubernetes monitoring resources such as Prometheus Operator, ServiceMonitor, and PodMonitor.
  • For the MIF project, analyze existing application architecture and components, conduct a proof of concept for Cognos, and support DB2-to-PostgreSQL migration, including data validation, performance assessment, and migration tooling.
  • Administer enterprise Linux systems, troubleshoot CPU, memory, I/O, and process issues, manage service lifecycles with systemd and journald, tune kernel parameters, investigate host incidents and forensic logs, define and execute patching and lifecycle strategies, troubleshoot LVM, XFS, ext4, mounts and I/O, and configure user and remote access including SSH hardening and bastion hosts.
  • Support Kubernetes control planes and worker nodes; troubleshoot pod failures, scheduling, container crashes, and resource exhaustion; debug CNI, service routing, and DNS issues; manage persistent volumes, storage classes, and dynamic provisioning; forecast capacity; execute and validate upgrades; support multi-cluster and multi-environment setups; analyze system logs; and maintain and enhance the Kubernetes stack.
  • Design, deploy, and operate Wazuh; manage Wazuh agents, policies, and tuning; troubleshoot log ingestion, decoders, enrichment rules, and alert logic; integrate Wazuh with platform services; analyze security alerts and support incident investigations; optimize SIEM performance; maintain compliance dashboards and audit evidence; and upgrade and optimize the Wazuh stack.
  • Deploy, configure, and operate Prometheus monitoring; administer scraping and service discovery; design recording and alert rules; reduce alert noise; integrate and troubleshoot exporters; resolve metric gaps, scrape latency, and cardinality issues; plan TSDB retention, storage, and query performance; develop and manage Grafana dashboards; troubleshoot dashboard performance, data sources, and visualizations; implement dashboard templates; integrate alerting with incident management; define platform SLIs, SLOs, and reliability indicators; correlate metrics and logs; manage Kubernetes monitoring components; and validate monitoring coverage for onboarded components and applications.
  • Operate PostgreSQL clusters; monitor connections, locks, long-running queries, and replication lag; validate backup, restore, and disaster recovery; plan compute and storage capacity; support failover and resilience testing; prepare and execute Oracle proofs of concept; evaluate VM-based, containerized, and managed database deployment models; and maintain and upgrade database platforms.
  • Deploy and operate MinIO object storage clusters; troubleshoot S3 API access, authentication, and compatibility; monitor capacity and plan storage expansions and scaling; configure lifecycle, retention, and archival policies; integrate MinIO with workloads, CI/CD, and backup systems; and analyze replication and erasure-coding performance.
  • Support NSX-T software-defined networking; troubleshoot routing, overlay networking, and cross-segment connectivity; manage distributed firewall and micro-segmentation policies; support load balancers and virtual networking; administer DNS zones, records, and service discovery; and analyze throughput, latency, and network capacity.
  • Design and support secure remote access using Apache Guacamole and Entra ID; troubleshoot identity flows, authentication chains, and access-control policies; integrate enterprise identity providers using OIDC and directory services; and implement secure access patterns for administrators and application teams.
  • Prepare and execute Ansible and AWX proofs of concept; develop playbooks for platform configuration, provisioning, and lifecycle tasks; integrate configuration management into operational routines; evaluate and optimize automated operational processes; and automate deployment validation and configuration compliance checks.
  • Serve as a third-level escalation point for complex infrastructure and platform incidents; perform root-cause analysis using logs, metrics, and system diagnostics; coordinate incident response across technical domains; identify and remediate recurring incidents; implement platform stabilization and hardening; and transition engineered solutions into long-term operational models.
  • Design and discuss audit controls; prepare audit evidence; integrate security controls and guardrails into deployment workflows; maintain compliance-sensitive configuration baselines; and support remediation of audit findings and compliance gaps.
  • Execute proofs of concept for emerging technologies and platform components; assess scalability, resilience, operational complexity, and security; create technical blueprints and reference architectures; define integration strategies for new services; and evaluate cost efficiency, maintainability, and operational impact.
  • Coordinate cross-team technical work across operations and engineering; support application onboarding to shared platform services; document platform standards, operational procedures, and best practices; contribute to presales and service portfolio evolution; and deliver knowledge-transfer and enablement sessions for operations and development teams.
