About the job

Requirements
  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or supply planning, including experience leading a team.
  • A proven track record managing exponential growth in stock-keeping units using technology and automation.
  • Capability to build automated tools using G Suite and other platforms, and experience leveraging artificial intelligence to improve impact.
  • Experience coaching team members, fostering accountability and ownership of results, and managing stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify system limitations and establish continuous feedback loops to improve and automate processes.
  • Willingness to contribute directly to operational work, maintain high standards, and cover gaps during peak periods or illness.
  • Commercial and data-driven approach, with a focus on protecting margins, reducing profit-and-loss leakage from manual errors, and right-sizing inventory to optimise working capital and cash flow.
Responsibilities
  • Build and scale the non-horticultural stock planning function and strategy, setting a vision and creating scalable operational processes to support rapid growth.
  • Lead the team in maintaining optimal stock levels across all sites, balancing availability against waste and holding costs, and coordinating with warehouse teams and strategic procurement managers while navigating multi-site space constraints.
  • Develop scalable, custom, automated supply-chain and inventory tools, create artificial-intelligence workflows to eliminate manual data entry and calculations, and develop agile spreadsheet-based solutions while planning the transition to long-term systems.
  • Develop standardised processes and frameworks, lead weekly key performance indicator reviews, and define departmental success measures to support proactive inventory and risk management.
  • Provide oversight, coaching, and mentorship to stock planners, support their development from manual execution to analytical decision-making, and build internal succession and resilience.
  • De-risk new range launches by ensuring operational infrastructure can handle increased stock-keeping-unit counts; collaborate with the commercial team to right-size inventory, protect availability, de-risk peak periods, release trapped cash, and develop third-party relationships with charities and discounters to manage excess stock.
  • Support planning and execution as needed to ensure operational continuity, especially during issues or peak periods.
  • Measure and manage the third-party warehouse partner’s performance against agreed service-level agreement terms.
  • Build internal operational performance reporting and supplier tiering, and implement initiatives to improve operational supplier performance.

About the company

Bloom & Wild is an online florist that delivers fresh, designer-quality flowers in letterbox-sized packaging, so recipients don’t need to be at home to receive them. Customers can buy one-off bouquets or subscribe to regular deliveries, with add-ons like vases and chocolates. The company uses data analytics and digital marketing to optimize product offerings and reach customers. Compared to competitors, its key difference is the letterbox packaging that enables contact-free delivery and its combination of single-purchase and subscription models plus corporate services. The goal is to be a leading online flower service known for convenient, predictable delivery and a scalable revenue model through subscriptions and expansion into more markets.

Bloom & Wild (Image: PR) A new collaboration between Marco Pierre White's Steakhouse restaurant in Oxford and online florist Bloom & Wild has brought together fresh seasonal flavours and beautiful blooms. The offer will give new Bloom & Wild customers 20 per cent off, while returning customers can enjoy 15 per cent off their next floral order. The collaboration coincides with the arrival of the restaurant's new seasonal menu, which the business says reflects the "vibrant ingredients and lighter dishes" that accompany the changing of the season. One of the UK's most popular online florists, Bloom & Wild is known for its letterbox flowers and thoughtfully curated bouquets. Paired with the culinary expertise of famed chef and restaurateur Marco Pierre White, the collaboration offers diners something extra special this spring. Venue director Madalina Duminica said: "This is a fabulous way to not only step into spring, but to come and try its brand-new seasonal menu. "Bursting with fresh, vibrant dishes, it's the perfect excuse to enjoy a meal that's been overseen by the great Marco Pierre White. "And to make guests' visit even more special, the new partnership with Bloom & Wild will help bring a little extra joy."
