About the job

Requirements
  • At least 3 years of experience developing and shipping reliable, maintainable, testable code, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Hands-on experience applying large language models, foundation models, or multimodal machine learning to real products or projects, including prompting, fine-tuning, retrieval, evaluation, or agentic systems.
  • Strong intuition for experimental design and statistical techniques to measure genuine effects from noise.
  • Product judgment to assess whether a model capability creates the right user experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and evaluate agentic artificial intelligence capabilities that enable people to accomplish real work in professional creative applications.
  • Turn frontier model capabilities into reliable product behavior through agentic architecture, tool and skill design, and structured output.
  • Build rigorous evaluations and quality measures for open-ended, difficult-to-score creative tasks, and use them to drive model and system improvements.
  • Work with on-device and server foundation models, including optimizing models for on-device inference constraints.
  • Investigate model and agent failures end to end, from user-visible symptoms to underlying causes.
  • Partner with product engineers, designers, creative-app teams, and creative-domain experts to translate real workflows into capabilities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building agentic systems, large language model tool use or function calling, or evaluation harnesses.
  • Deep, hands-on experience as a professional or power user of creative tools, including digital audio workstations, non-linear video editors, image editors, office productivity applications, or design suites.
  • Experience with Apple's creative applications.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep-learning toolkits such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
  • Experience optimizing models and algorithms for resource-constrained or on-device platforms such as Core ML.
  • Experience with Swift and iOS or macOS development.
  • A record of publications or patents in relevant areas.

Binance's Zhao says $1,999 iPhone Duo will go "unhinged" with crypto traders

Apple released its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, last week. Binance cofounder Changpeng Zhao predicts crypto traders will use it heavily, saying many iPhones will be "unhinged" by "crypto trenchers." The Duo's 7.6-inch inner display is the largest on any iPhone. It makes long-term price charts for assets like Bitcoin, Ether, and XRP easier to read than on a narrow screen. Last month, Zhao shared a screenshot of a BNB/USDT trading pair on Binance and said the "Duo is pretty good for charting." Binance said in June that it has more than 300 million registered users. The 256GB Duo costs $1,999 in the US.

Apple enters smart home with LG and Schneider Electric devices and $299 HomeView display

Apple is expanding into the smart home with the Apple Home Collection, a range of cameras, thermostats, sensors, a video doorbell, and a smart lock made with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Products start arriving in December, with more due in early 2027. Apple controls setup, software, AI, privacy, and the Home app, while its partners build the hardware. LG prices start at $199.95 for an interior camera and thermostat, and Schneider Electric sensors start at $39.95. Apple's own $299 HomeView is a seven-inch smart display that uses Siri AI to recognise up to six household members. It goes on sale November 13, against Google's $229 Nest Hub Max. Apple says it keeps camera video and personal data private from itself, LG, and Schneider Electric.
