Can Unit4's new CMO make it impossible to ignore? September 1, 2026 Unit4 has appointed Anja Sadock as Chief Marketing Officer. Sadock brings over 20 years of global marketing experience from across a range of industries, including SaaS, hospitality, and consumer goods. Sadock joins Unit4 to lead the global marketing organisation. She will be responsible for brand strategy, demand generation and integrating marketing into the AI-powered growth engine that Unit4 is developing. Unit4 has not held a CMO role for several years. Julie Knight was the last to serve in the position, holding the post from 2019 to 2023. Johan Reventberg, CRO at Unit4, stated, "Anja is exactly the marketing leader we set out to find: someone who thinks like a brand-builder, executes like a demand generation operator, and leads like a coach. She has already proven she can take a company nobody had heard of and make it the loudest, most credible voice in its category. And that is precisely the ambition we have for Unit4 in our markets. "Beyond the immediate lift to our pipeline and our brand, I believe Anja will help define how we compete for years to come, turning AI from a talking point into a genuine engine for growth. All the leadership team are thrilled to have her on board." The appointment follows that of Stuart Nash as Chief Operating Officer last month. It is the second C-Suite appointment supporting the firm's 2030 growth strategy. Xcelerate 2030 strategy that was first announced at its FY2026 kick-off in Amsterdam. The ambition is to "become a €1 billion European leader in intelligent, time-saving software", according to Nash. That target will mean doubling its business revenue, primarily through targeting its core verticals of Professional Services, Public Sector, Nonprofit, and Higher Education. Unit4 also aims to accelerate the migration of customers from legacy platforms to its modern, cloud-based, AI-powered ERPx platform. To achieve this, Sadock will focus on honing Unit4's brand and market position and scaling its demand generation engine to drive new customer acquisition. She is also aiming to embed AI across the marketing function to increase efficiency and increase productivity. Who is Anja Sadock. Sadock joins from TrusTrace, a technology vendor that offers a market-leading platform for supply chain transparency and traceability within Fashion and Retail. She was Head of marketing there for nearly 5 years. Helping to achieve 81% CAGR and the number one share of voice in its target segment over four consecutive years. It is that success at TrusTrace that makes her stand out, despite the potential lack of experience, in several of Unit4's core verticals. Sadock was also Head of marketing at Scandic Hotels for two and a half years. She spent 14 years at Procter & Gamble, rising through the marketing department to a senior marketing position as Head of brand operations in-store and e-business. At P&G, her responsibilities took her beyond her native Sweden and into several global markets. Sadock has an MSc in International Marketing and Management from the Copenhagen Business School, an MBA from the Schulich School of Business (Canada), a BSc from Copenhagen Business School and an MSc from emlyon Business School. She has spoken at several events, including SKSW, where she spoke about Honest Marketing & Circularity: A New Era for Fashion. She also spoke at COP29, Vogue Business Sustainable Futures, and several other global forums during her tenure at Trustrace. Anja Sadock, CMO, Unit4, stated, "Where Unit4 stands out is its people and the purpose. The mission to serve those who serve, and to give time back for what matters most, is not just a statement. It is a passion you feel in every conversation, backed by genuine depth of knowledge and drive to help customers in our core verticals succeed. "That is a powerful foundation. Unit4 has the people, the purpose, the product and the ambition to be the defining ERP leader for people-centric organisations. My job is to make sure the world knows it." Enterprise times: what does this mean. This appointment secures Unit4 a senior marketing leader at a pivotal moment in its 2030 growth strategy. Sadock's track record at TrusTrace is important because Unit4 needs more than awareness; it needs sharper category positioning, stronger demand generation, and clearer differentiation as AI becomes central to ERP buying decisions. Her experience across SaaS, consumer goods and hospitality should help Unit4 combine disciplined brand building with measurable pipeline execution. Her work in sustainability and traceability shows she can elevate complex enterprise propositions into market-facing narratives. In the wider ERP market, vendors are competing to prove that AI can deliver practical productivity benefits rather than hype. Sadock's speaking experience at global forums such as SXSW, COP29 and Vogue Business Sustainable Futures adds credibility and visibility. For Unit4, that could help amplify its people-centric ERP message and support its ambition to become a leading European intelligent software vendor.

Unit4 wins public sector deals as demand for cloud grows. Wed, 19th Aug 2026 (Today) Public sector and higher education organisations are increasing their adoption of Unit4's software-as-a-service products, with recent customer wins, migrations and go-lives across several markets. New public sector customers in the past six months include Winnipeg School Division in Canada and the Town of Stoney Plain in Alberta. In the UK, the Local Government Association has moved to an ERPx single instance with a multi-entity model, while East Riding of Yorkshire Council has selected Unit4 ERPx for a staged change programme supported by Embridge Consulting. Among organisations that have gone live this year are Gemeente Delft and Gemeente Eindhoven in the Netherlands, as well as the Municipality of Södertälje in Sweden. Unit4 said these projects reflected demand from public bodies seeking to modernise finance and administrative systems while managing costs and broader transformation work. The push also extends into higher education, which Unit4 identified alongside state and local government as sectors under pressure to replace older back-office systems. It linked that pressure to tighter budgets and growing interest in systems designed for artificial intelligence-related use. Leadership changes Alongside the customer activity, Unit4 has added senior executives focused on the sector. Christoffer Crona has taken charge of the global public sector sales team, while Ian Owen has joined as Global Industry Director for Public Sector. Owen brings experience from the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, where he has served as a Fellow and Council Member. His role will focus on helping public sector bodies shape transformation plans around newer software deployments. Unit4 has also expanded its partner network to support implementations in different regions. In the UK, it has appointed Embridge Consulting as its exclusive public sector reseller, while in the United States and Canada it highlighted its relationships with Agilyx. Product additions Unit4 has recently added two products aimed at helping customers work with finance and operational data. It described Unit4 Data Hub as a managed extraction layer within ERPx, and Unit4 FIX as a tool designed to give finance teams and budget holders a single governed view of operational financial actuals. According to the company, the additions are intended to reduce the work involved in extracting information from core ERP systems and connecting it to analytics tools. They are also designed to give users current, traceable financial information. Public sector buyers have been under pressure to improve service delivery while keeping spending under control, a theme that has shaped software purchasing across local government, education and other publicly funded bodies. In Europe and North America in particular, this has coincided with wider digital transformation programmes and reorganisation efforts. Some recent deployments show how customers are approaching those changes in stages rather than through a single large-scale shift. East Riding of Yorkshire Council, for example, is set to redesign its financial operating model with support from Embridge Consulting while moving to the newer ERP platform. Winnipeg School Division is another notable addition because of its size, serving more than 33,000 students across 78 schools. The Town of Stoney Plain and the Local Government Association add municipal and membership body use cases, giving Unit4 reference customers across different parts of the public sector. In continental Europe, the Dutch municipality market featured prominently in the update. Gemeente Delft, which serves more than 100,000 citizens, and Gemeente Eindhoven, which serves more than 250,000 residents, have both moved to ERPx, according to Unit4. The Swedish example differs slightly in that the Municipality of Södertälje adopted Unit4 Nordic Cloud rather than ERPx. Unit4 said the municipality has nearly 6,000 employees and serves a population of roughly 102,931. IDC also pointed to the broader spending environment in the sector. "State and local governments and higher education institutions are under pressure to modernise ageing back-office systems while budgets stay tight, and they are increasingly turning to cloud-based, AI-ready platforms to close that gap," said Ruthbea Yesner, Group Vice President, Public Sector, IDC. "Vendors that can demonstrate measurable outcomes, deep public sector expertise, and a manageable path to modernisation are best placed to earn the trust of public sector buyers," said Yesner. Crona framed the recent customer activity as part of a wider shift in service delivery models. "I am delighted to be joining the Unit4 team during what is an exciting period of change for public sector organisations around the world," said Christoffer Crona, SVP Global Sales Public Sector, Unit4. "We are seeing growing demand from customers for tools to help them transform how services are delivered, with the first step being standardising core processes on Unit4 ERPx. This gives our customers the essential foundations and agility to respond more dynamically and cost-effectively to the needs of citizens." Owen said public bodies were dealing with multiple large-scale reform programmes at once. "Around the world there are major challenges facing the public sector, whether it is local government reorganisation in the UK or large-scale digital transformation programmes across Europe, North America and APAC," said Ian Owen, Global Industry Director, Public Sector, Unit4. "These are significant transformation challenges that require careful planning and phased implementations to minimise disruption to services and employees while delivering tangible results. We are already seeing with our customers who have gone live that they are reaping significant benefits from moving to Unit4's next-generation SaaS applications."

Christoffer brings a wealth of experience delivering SaaS-based and helping customers to extract the most value from their Cloud-based applications. Ian Owen also joins as Global Industry Director, bringing a wealth of experience as a Fellow and Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA). Ian's role will be to help public sector bodies build robust transformation plans to enable them to maximise their investments in next generation SaaS applications. Unit4 also continues to build out its public sector proposition, mostly recently announcing Unit4 Data Hub and Unit4 FIX, which will help public sector organisations to turn data into action. Data Hub is a managed, high-volume extraction layer built into Unit4 ERPx, which eliminates the complexity of extracting data and managing connections between analytics tools and core ERP systems. Unit4 FIX gives finance teams and budget holders a single, governed view of operational financial actuals which is consistent, traceable, and always current. This gives budget holders in the public sector the confidence they are accessing relevant, accurate real-time financial information to make effective decisions. Unit4 continues to build out its partner ecosystem around the world to ensure its customers have implementation partners with the right local and technology expertise. In the UK, the company has deepened its relationship with Embridge Consulting appointing it exclusive UK Public Sector reseller. In other markets, Unit4 has developed strong relationships with Agilyx in the United States and Canada.
