Requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical outcomes research, observational study design, and causal inference.
  • Experience with large clinical databases.
  • Proficiency in biostatistics, programming, and bioinformatics.
  • A strong publication record and experience collaborating with clinicians and mentoring trainees.
  • A track record of external grant applications.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the department's clinical outcomes research program.
  • Collaborate with surgeons to design and execute high-impact clinical research.
  • Provide methodological leadership for observational studies, registry analyses, comparative effectiveness research, and real-world evidence studies.
  • Train surgical residents, oncology fellows, and faculty in study design, database development, statistical analysis, and scientific writing.
  • Build reproducible analytics workflows and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Compile, write, and submit project results to the principal investigator or Director of Surgical Research.
  • Confer with industrial, governmental, or other groups concerning the progress or results of research projects.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed papers as the first or corresponding author.
  • Develop competitive external grant applications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
