Requirements
  • At least 1 to 2 years of compliance experience.
  • Working understanding of global Know Your Customer and Anti-Money Laundering frameworks.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of concurrent requests against tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle client KYC conversations with senior stakeholders and counterparties.
  • Ability to assess situations, apply the appropriate compliance framework, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Prior experience or exposure in a legal, compliance, or risk management environment is welcome but not required.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the intake, processing, and timely resolution of inbound Know Your Customer requests from clients and counterparties.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for KYC inquiries and provide clients with answers on global KYC requirements.
  • Review and validate KYC documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with Anti-Money Laundering, Know Your Customer, and applicable international frameworks.
  • Determine whether KYC documentation meets compliance standards and escalate or resolve issues as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of KYC requests and documentation in Carta's systems.
  • Monitor evolving KYC and AML regulations globally and apply updated requirements to daily work.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior exposure to corporate banking, a legal service provider, or a fund compliance environment, particularly familiarity with offshore jurisdictions such as the Cayman Islands or Luxembourg.
  • Experience using artificial intelligence tools or technology-driven workflows in practice.
  • Prior experience in financial or legal services, including a law firm, legal services provider, fund administrator, or the compliance or legal department of a financial institution or asset manager.
  • Experience reviewing or preparing KYC documentation packs, AML comfort letters, or ultimate beneficial owner declarations.
  • Familiarity with private market structures, including fund formations, general partner/limited partner relationships, and offshore holding structures such as Luxembourg.
  • Exposure to European Union frameworks, including CSSF and AMLD requirements, United Kingdom Financial Conduct Authority frameworks, or United States FinCEN AML/CFT frameworks.
  • A degree in law, compliance, finance, or a related subject area, or a diploma in paralegal studies.
  • ICA Certificate in Anti-Money Laundering or Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists certification.
